    snip

Around 2,700 workers lost their jobs on Monday, according to a report from the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal.

The company, which had become one of the largest furniture businesses in the country, sent a memo via email and text message to workers late Monday night and instructed them not to report to work the next morning.

In a follow-up email, United Furniture Industries said the layoff is "expected to be permanent and all benefits will be terminated immediately without provision of COBRA."

    end snip

We can be outraged at the method of the layoff notice but DO NOT lose sight that whether in person, or virtual, 2,700 people are without a situation during the holidays.

I don't believe that these 2,700 will find similar paying jobs with benefits.

We saw this coming. We continued to attack fossil fuel which then has a negative snowball effect upon all industries.

2,700 more financial casualties during full Democrat control

I can't help but wonder if United Furniture is a member of the World Economic Forum...

With the number of workplace murders by disgruntled employees seems a prudent way to do it.

At some point even the most liberal of liberals is going to have to admit Biden’s policies are killing us.

Only the beginning of the damage democrats are going to do.

Meanwhile, they're cozying up to another dictator in Venezuela to get tips on how to socialize the oil industry.

I think you underestimate the level of their stupidity.

They'll be eating grass soup and blaming Trump.

The mid-term results showed you how the media can influence Democrat voters

Kinda glad it worked out the way it did.

Now democrats have nobody to blame for their ongoing destruction of the country.

Of course they will anyway, but their stupidity will be more obvious this way.

When times get tough, people don't buy furniture. During the panDEMic, there was a waiting list to get furniture. One day we are paying people to sit on the couch, and now people can't pay for a couch!

People can barely afford food. Consumer debt is skyrocketing. 401ks are taking a nosedive. Property taxes have skyrocketed. Nobody can afford to buy a house. The nations emergency oil reserve is spent.

And it's going to get much, much worse before it gets better.

I wonder if they close down and layoff prior to benefits enrollment. I know these employees won't get cobra ...most benefit enrollments happen in nov/dec

could be, I do not know the laws, but there has to be a reason, most corps seem to do a "home for the holidays" layoff plan

At some point even the most conservative of conservatives is going to have to admit the fallout from Covid, drought, fed interest rate hikes, big oil artificially reducing supply..... is not either parties fault, it's a global issue

No, it's the end result of leftists.

Leftists got Ukraine invaded. Leftists got the world shut down for covid. Leftists have a war on energy production.

    This is the result.

Priceless. Company lays off people just before Thanksgiving, while also denying them COBRA benefits, and they manage to have Trump supporters blame Biden rather than the anti-social company culture that treats employees like commodities, that can be laid off at will. I guess they don't have to worry about bad publicity anymore when they have the sheep bleating "Biden did this" at will. Meanwhile, upper management is making record profits and salaries, and they are laughing all the way to the bank.

Let me ask you this: Should those people, who lost their jobs, receive government unemployment benefits and for how long? Because the normal agenda of the Trump party seems to be to not pay people for sitting at home. Yes or no?

No, it's not the "fault of covid".

The Covid response happened because leftists wanted to play megalomaniac for two years. They're the one's the shut down the world using Communist China as a model.
