US election: Trump tells North Carolina voters to vote twice

We know where this will be going: Lots of Trump supporters taking this advice, mailing in their vote, and then lining up at the polls to plug up the lines. When they get to the front, they claim to just test that they can't vote twice. Rinse and repeat. That will slow the process to a crawl and will prevent legitimate voters from voting. In Biochemistry, we call this mechanism competitive inhibition. That's what you get when one party benefits from having as few people being able to vote as possible.

You really should stick to your story. First, you said it was impossible for pollsters to find out if your vote had been tabulated. Now, apparently, you think they can.

 

Many states will not permit mail in ballots to begin counting until November 3, Pennsylvania is one, because we have a GOP STATE LEGISLATURE. So mail in ballots will not have been registered at the time the cheating voter goes to the polling booth casting in person vote.

 

Trust me, I don't. I encourage you to "test" the TSA system the next time you travel as well. We need more Trump supporters willing to "test" systems everywhere.

 

If they are going to vote in person, why is he encouraging them also to send in a vote by mail?

 

The POTUS should always be taken literally. His position and the sway that it carries is to great to leave to interpretation.

 

I dont care how slow it is. Votes should be counted. The left screamed for vote by mail. Now deal with it.

Why ask them, in advance of that, ALSO to send in a vote by mail?

 

Is he? Or is he actually using a fact based model that suggests that the safeguards that folks insist will work aren't real? And why are liberals incensed about this? Or was their strategy to do exactly this to inflate their own numbers, and Trump has just publicly called them out for it. If, as democrats insist in NC, the mail in votes should preclude a voter from voting in person, why are they worried if the system actually does what it is supposed to do, unless it won't actually do that?

So, instead of admitting to the flaw, and their hope no one noticed, btw, they accuse the president of telling folks to do something illegal. When in fact he's proving that the safeguard doesn't work. Sometimes democrats are just slimy. This is proof of that.

That's pretty lame. Lots of Presidents make jokes. Sounds like your bias is showing.

 

Every state I've been in the poll workers have your name on a sheet without any indication that you voted or didn't until they check off your name. So you can vote twice as the Criminal-in-Chief suggested. BUT, votes are checked back at the state elections headquarters later, and if they find you voted twice, men in blue suits will come to hurt you and take you away.

Vote-by-mail works great in Oregon as I have said here before (but some like to ignore it and claim it doesn't work without checking states like Oregon and Washington where it is the standard). I vote as soon as I get my ballot delivered by the very reliable USPS, and three or four days later I can check online with my elections division to see if my ballot was received. Then, during the last two weeks before the election date, I can check again to see if my vote was counted. If not, I can go in to my local elections precinct, tell then I couldn't find it, they will check, and if they don't find it they will give me another ballot to hand in to them on the spot.

What the "president" suggested WAS ILLEGAL. These objections that he didn't use the word "twice" are childish bullshit. He SAID to vote twice, but he didn't say "vote twice".

If your state has mail-in-voting they should have the ability to check online as my state does. In that case the process is safe, reliable, and efficient in spite of what slimy republicans say. Trump just wants to cheat his ass off and it's interesting that so much of what he says and recommends is either insane or, in this case, ILLEGAL.

If you're worried about the integrity of your state's mail-in system, get educated on how states like Oregon have been doing it for 20 years successfully. Learn about our safeguards and checks. Learn about the surveillance cameras that record the process of ballot-counting. Learn about the audit trail. Learn how it's done and then petition YOUR state's elections board to ensure equally effective safeguards in place. Team up with any local newspapers and voting advocacy groups. SAFE, RELIABLE MAIL-IN-VOTING CAN BE DONE. It's all dependent on the willingness and determination of your state to make it work reliably. And if they fail, I believe a lawsuit would be in order.

 

NO "president" should be "joking" or suggesting harmful or illegal things, like injecting disinfectants, drinking bleach, or voting twice. Why is it this corrupt, sociopathic, stroke-impaired, A.D.D.-afflicted liar cannot be trusted to tell the truth about anything?!!

And then they should be incarcerated, five years plus a permanent revocation of their right to vote.

Nope. If it can't be verified that their vote was indeed counted they get to vote again. You can't deny someone the right to vote at a polling place in person if it can not be verified that their vote has already been counted.

 

In person, of course, but that is not my quote.

You don’t understand how mail in ballots work then. They have to agree they have not previously voted. If they say they haven’t (a prerequisite to vote in person) it becomes a felony.
