That's the way it looks to me.

    Here's a bit of trivia.

Following the Syrian Civil War and rise of ISIL, the majority of the remaining Jews of Syria have fled to neighboring Israel. In November 2015, it was reported that only 18 Syrian Jews remain in the entire country.

Taking refugees in no way gives the host country the right to intervene in the refugees' country of origin's affairs.

The CNN article I posted entitled "Why Iran's Rise is a Good Thing" was written by Hillary Mann Leverett, someone who has taught foreign policy and international relations at Yale, Georgetown, and has worked for many years for the US government including in various diplomatic missions in the region and on the national security council during the Bush administration. She is also the author of "Going to Tehran: But Jeffery Sachs, by going to the point quickly and saying what needed to be said about it in a few words, probably said it best when he wrote the following about the idea of 'defeating' Iran:

Responsibility to protect. The Responsibility to Protect (R2P or RtoP) is a global political commitment which was endorsed by all member states of the United Nations at the 2005 World Summit to prevent genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.

Both entities, SA and ISIL, are Wahabists.

First, it's stretched to the point of desperation. I don't buy it.

Second, it still doesn't have any relation to taking in refugees or not.

No ISIS isn't Wahhabis.. Everything they stand for is anti wahhabi.. including killing homosexuals, temporary marriages, rape, killing non combatants, female genital mutilations etc.

That you can conveniently use such a broad-definition law that besides, you don't apply in 90% of he cases.

This rage you are inflicted with concerning Assad is eating away your credibility, and make you abuse the certain knowledge you have about the area.

ISIL follows a fundamentalist, Wahabi doctrine of Sunni Islam.

Wrong you ignant. Is it deliberate? Yes it is.

I for one give Assad the benefit of the doubt. Why? Because the western media and officials have lied again and again when advocating regime change. And yet you call "us" morons?

An moron is defined as a stupid person. Whereas stupid implies an extreme lack of intelligence. I feel that fits those willing to constantly believe the very sources that have verifiably lied to you in the past. So who really is an moron here?

    TLDR: people are idiots

    From your lips...

I celebrated when castro died, I celebrated when khomeini died; when khameini, assad and putie boy go - along with their regimes - it'll be like heaven on earth.

No they don't.. Temporary marriage is Shia and FGM is very rare in the Gulf States. Killing NON combatants is strictly forbidden. You don't know what you are talking about and you aren't alone. Every twerp on the board assumes he knows about Wahhabi doctrine.

It doesn't? According to who, you? So Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon have to feed, clothe and support 5 MM syrians dumped on them by assad and iran?

Your opinion would not be shared by most of the planet.

You give Assad the "benefit of the doubt". Sweet Jesus WHY? Do you know anything at all about the Assad regime since 1971?

The RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT ("RtoP" or "R2P") is a new international security and human rights norm to address the international community’s failure to prevent and stop genocides, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.

The INTERNATIONAL COALITION FOR THE RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT (ICRtoP) brings together NGOs from all regions of the world to strengthen normative consensus for RtoP, further the understanding of the norm, push for strengthened capacities to prevent and halt genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity and mobilize NGOs to push for action to save lives in RtoP country-specific situations.

"Stretched to the point of desperation"? assad has killed 500K, at what point would it come into play, when 5 MM are dead? When he has run out of barrel bombs and cities to level/destroy?

It was ISIL "dumping" most these refugees. You know, the people that Assad, Iran, Russia and Hizbollah fights, and that Israel and the Sauds condone.

Most of the planet also think Justin Beiber is a genius. Honestly, most of the planet can kiss my ass.

Stalin had a term for people in the West who actually bought his propaganda and argued on his behalf, he called them "useful idiots." He was referring to people who were not intelligent and could be easily manipulated to defend his horrendous regime, even in the face of massive slaughter, crimes against humanity, etc.

Those who defend assad's regime in such a way in 2017, with the benefit of the internet and so many other sources that did not exist in the 1930s and 40s, might be even worse.

There is no way anyone can defend assad or his regime; his 50-year family dynasty was murdering huge numbers of people BEFORE the civil uprising began; it just didn't get the Western media headlines the way those scumbags jump when Israel does something, but mind you, it was happening.

Those of us from or very familiar with the region knew of this years before 2011 when the uprising began.

Huh? isis does not have an air force, it could not have been bombing whole neighborhoods like assad.

Good, strong debating points there. So glad you joined the thread.

Dumping? NO. They were running from ISIS and Assad's barrel bombs.. They fled to Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, the GCC and Europe.

Syrian Jews fled to Israel.. Today there are 18 Jews left in Syria. 20,000 Syrian Christians are in Jordan which is good because Jordan has many Christian schools.

Assad's younger brother is in charge of the military, police and prisons and he is as ruthless and bloodthirsty as his father was when he murdered thousands of Muslim Brotherhood in the 1980s.
