    Ah yes, if it was trending worse before trump got elected, then trump's failure - by making it worse despite three years of his "world class" negotiating skills and his monopolistic (and idiotic) fixation on reducing the trade deficit and his repeated campaign promise to reduce the deficit - can be excused.

    You are staying into the face of a mountain of economic data that demonstrates trumps trade war is bad.

    The trade deficit is worse. Manufacturing is slowing down. Hundreds of thousands of jobs have been lost. US taxpayers are paying billions each month.

    And your lone response is well it is worse for the Chinese. That is only goal of a trade war: To lose slightly less than the other guy.

    Everyone loses in a trade war.
