no different from the hysterical nuclear gap propaganda that we heard back during the Cold War - as always, not one word of truth in any of it

That was JFK's fake "missile gap" platform that he ranj on in 1960.

All of the dead people in the cemeteries in Illinois took the bait, hook line and sinker

That was exactly what "Military Times" said why Obama's approval rating as CnC by the troops was in the teens and single digits with Marines and soldiers.

No military should ever be used for social engineering experimentations.

It also helps if the CnC understands the military chain of command and follows the chain of Command.

In 1981 President Reagan inherited the Democrats "New Left" military. A hollo force with low moral.

By 1986 it became the Reagan military, the best trained and best equipped with high moral in American military in history.
The Soviet Union went broke trying to match the Reagan military and the Cold War came to an end.

In 1989 President G.H. Bush inherited Reagan's military and went on in 1991 putting 500,000 troops on the ground winning the first Gulf War (Desert Storm) with Reagan's military.

In 1993 President Clinton inherited Reagan's military and in just four years dismantled the Reagan military and it became Clinton's military.

In 2001 President G.W. Bush inherited Clinton's military and in 2003 he went to war in Iraq with Clinton's military being able to only put 200,000 American troops on the ground, not enough to occupy Iraq after accomplishing the mission of regime change which allowed the Iraq Insurrection to take place.

In 2001 President Obama inherited the Clinton/G W Bush military and decided the military needed more dismantling and more social engineering.

In 2017 President Trump inherited President Obama's PC military.

I'd put my money on the Rules of Engagement.
Allowing gays in the military isn't "social engineering."

Another gift Bush left for Obama. Bush sent all the soldiers to die in Iraq.

The Iraq war had one of the lowest American military casualties rates in America's history.

Just as many American troops were killed in Iraq as were killed during the Philippine Insurrection war that lasted just about as long.

Many of us vets from another war were asking why are today's soldiers not humping and grunting and fighting on foot instead of fighting from humvees and armored vehicles ???

The answer is that today's soldiers are wearing so much crap, body armor, knee pads, etc that they are carrying so much freaking weight they can't fight effectively on foot.

Why aren't combat engineers in front of convoys clearing the mines and EID's like the way it was done 50 years ago ?

Why fight a war of pacification when "Crush and Bolt" a punitive action war would be the way to do it ?

Before WW ll America was really good at punitive action wars. "Crush and Bolt."

In my opinion Afghanistan should have been a "Crush and Bolt" punitive action war.

The Iraq war, President G.W. Bush failed to follow the Weinberger and Powell Doctrine's and should have never invaded Iraq with the Clinton military that he inherited.

Maybe a "crush and bolt" from the sky would have been the way to go ?

I'm with you on Afghanistan, but the better course in Iraq would have been to leave them alone.

If Gen. LeMey were still around we could have just bombed Iraq back into the stone age. ;)

President Clinton and the UK had eight years to deal with Iraq and as far as Clinton was able to achieve was signing the Iraq Liberation Act into law in 1998 that both Republicans and Democrats passed in Congress.

British intelligence fed the Bush (43) administration with fake intelligence. -> https://nsarchive2.gwu.edu/NSAEBB/NSAEBB279/

British intelligence did the same thing of feeding fake intelligence to President Obama and crooked Hillary calling for regime change in Libya.

One has to wonder if back in 1917 did British intelligence fed fake intelligence (Zimmerman Telegram) to the United States ?

British intelligence has a long track history of feeding fake intelligence to America.

Holy crap, it was a former British intelligence agent that crooked Hillary and the DNC paid for a fake Russian dossier on Donald Trump !!!

Obvious you like most never read the FBI's debriefing of Saddam Hussein.

Even Saddam blamed the UK for Bush (43) invading Iraq in 2003.

What does that have to do with Bush and his pals continuing to badger Tenet until Tenet gave them the answer they wanted?

Here is some truth. We aren't going to be the lone superpower anymore, simply because our economy isn't big enough. China is catching and will one day be able to spend far more and have a much larger pool or potential scientists and soldiers to choose from. Our best bet is to lower military spending and government spending in general to improve our economy, and get our allies in Europe to have an equal responsibility in global defense. I believe in strength through alliances rather than spending insane amounts in military spending that we just are too far in debt to afford anymore.

You have to have at least two superpowers in the world to have some stability in the world.

Look at the basket case of California, a totalitarian state, one party rule, a cesspool where only the uneducated, unskilled and bad hombres want to move too.

Would be kinda nice if Britannia still ruled the seas.

Russia ??? I think Putin plans for Russia just to be a regional power.
