So we'd destroy a handful of SAMs and anti-ship missile launchers. So what?

You do know most of the Chinese navy is not in the Spratleys right?

    - - - Updated - - -

So who has a stronger military than us?

My search for a thread subject dumber than this one has failed. This one is still by far the winner.

I'm not responding to our attack. I'm responding to the nonsense about China destroying us.

Fun fact: China spends less than half of what the US does on military and has fewer nukes than we do, but they have a far bigger population and consequently more military soldiers in total.

So when war with China causes immediately supply shock and when their government dumps their US debt securities on the open market at pennies on the dollar and the value of the dollar collapses, how will our sudden reduction to a third world nation assist us?

You think a world war could start with the assassination of an obscure Archduke?

See, nuclear weapons will do that. You think America is immune? One or two high yield MIRVs and your East and West coast centres of population are dust.

China has a huge standing army, so armed civilians are irrelevant.

Better bet is to keep making the Chinese leadership rich. They don't want war, it would cost them too much money.

I'm sorry, who again is ranked the top military in the world by far?

Can you clarify that for us?

How many wars have you actually won in the last 50 years? How many nations have you fought who have a parity in arms? None, and none. Biggest seldom equates to best, irrespective of how many toys you might have.

The U.S. would have no problem implementing a distant naval blockade of China and collapsing their economy utterly.

And for those who claim this would damage the U.S. economy? Yes it would. But not anywhere near what it would do to China.

In the U.S. it would be a thinner selection at Walmart. In China it would be hundreds of millions of angry Chinese out of jobs and shortly out of food rioting in the streets.

Excellent; so where are the US manufacturing jobs going to come from to replace all the Chinese-made goods you now enjoy? Magic?
Oh, and do you really believe America is China's only trading partner? How much does America owe China, by the way, give or take a few billion; does $1.05 trillion sound about right? Maybe Trump should take care of your own massive debts before whining about NATO members!

    Ever heard the saying?

"If you owe the bank $5,000 and can't pay it you're in trouble.

If you owe the bank $1,000,000 and can't pay it, then your banks in trouble."

China is far from the largest holder of U.S. debt.

Regarding Chinese manufactured goods. Like I said, so Americans have a thinner selection at Walmart. Like we're going to surrender over that.

You didn't answer the question. But then again, I wouldn't expect someone from a nation who's military isn't even in the top 5 to deflect.

    Peace out homie

"There would be a thinner selection at Walmart"

Translation: Walmart and other stores that get their goods from China would see massive increases in prices and undergo mass fires and closing of stores. Millions of people would lose their jobs and millions more consumers would find their already stretched finances stretched even more , leading to bankruptcies around the country.

China would also dump US debt securities on the open market, which would crash the value of the dollar.

When unemployed Americans have to fork over wheelbarrows of dollars to buy food, do you think they won't riot?

China will not go to war with the US. The strategy is to buy the US with the dollars we send them every year via our trade deficit.

Our debt is a freely traded Security on the global stock market and a key factor behind he value of the dollar.

China can dump our securities on the global market at pennies on the dollar. Yeah, they lose out on that money, but if our blockade is crashing their economy already, they have nothing to lose and they can utterly kill the dollar by doing so.

I did answer your question, you are just incapable of understanding basic English; you asserted that you have the biggest military; and so what? McDonald's sells the most cheeseburgers; doesn't follow that they're any good either. Let's see how you fare in a real war, with real opposition, not just the defenceless little guy.

Yes, the United States has the most powerful military in the world. I'm glad we're both on the same page.

Let the UN or Chinese neighbors deal with China. China is a rival but they are an ally.

Are you being deliberately obtuse? With your 'most powerful military in the world' you haven't managed to win a war yet! You're very good at bombing countries which can't fight back though. That takes real guts and bravery.

Translation: Start WWIII before the Chinese do. That is pretty nutty. I think the prospect of complete annihilation will inhibit both parties, much like the cold war.

Sure. Believe that. The dollar is basically the world's currently. The value of it suddenly goes down investors from South Africa to Brazil to India to the petro states will be snapping up dollars near instantly. Driving the value back up.

    No major problems.
