This is possibly the silliest suggestion as to what we should do about "Islamic" terror I've seen yet. It's not just insane but positively bizarre, wrong on so many levels and for so many reasons it's impossible to go into them all. I will mention just one to show just how truly idiotic this idea is.

Would all the adherents of Christianity disavow their faith if the Jihadists managed to blow up Vatican City and kill the Pope? Would you say "gee the Jihadists must be right" and fit your wife out for a Burqa right away?

Oh, and the Kaaba has, in fact, actually received one very major attack in modern times. It was by ISLAMIC TERRORISTS in the 1980s.

What is the (*)(*)(*)(*)ing MATTER with you people suggesting this? Sheeeesh

They also fight over land, for ethnic reasons, for economic reasons, etc.

How is a "cube" a clear and present danger?

I am with you on this one Margot. I had to look up what Kaba was; but when I found out that it was a black rock enshrined in a cube in Mecca, I was a more than a little confused as to why someone would bomb something like that. It would immediately stir up the hornets nest, and that is what we don't want. Muslims would quickly retaliate by blowing up churches. However if they ever blow up the Pantheon (a giant 3-D puzzle) like they have other ancient icons, I would blow it up myself.

    Pantheon?

The stone enshrined in the Kaaba was supposedly a meteorite that was used as an altar stone by Abraham.

I didn't know the significance of it. I knew it was a meteor, but not that it was used by Abraham.

The Pantheon is the beautiful, iconic pillared temple in Greece. It was built to honor the goddess Athena

The Parthenon is the beautiful, pillared building in Greece. The Pantheon is the beautiful domed building in Rome. I was confused--as usual. The word Parthenon is an interesting word though. It has its roots in the idea of asexual reproduction, or without fertilization of the egg, and came from the word virgin. The virgin birth: Sound familiar.
