Invading the Capitol to stop the certification of an election is a great deal more than showing your "disagreement". It's insurrection and quite stupid.

Like what? Did they bring people to one place and instruct them to march on , well, anything? Was BLM actively engaged in rioting and looting, or were the rioters and looters opportunist hangers-on? You Trumpers have had your ability to draw analogies removed at some point.

I agree with much of what you said and also agree that the only way to hold Trump and his followers accountable is to beat their asses at the ballot box and get into the position to enact legislation to thwart the GOPs decades long voter suppression and cheating by use of gerrymandering and flat out cheating in elections.

The Democrats need to quit whining about voter ID laws and get their damn voters proper IDs to vote and to take full advantage of early voting and other means to get all of their voters out not only in Presidential elections but at low turnout midterms and especially state housr elections which have produced the bunch of scoundrels who are writing these new laws and hiring bullshit NEWSMAX Ninjas to play around with the ballots after elections have been decided. These new laws can be challenged in court, but with the current SCOTUS in place there is a damn good chance that these laws will be upheld.

If the Democrats want to be successful in carrying out their agenda they need to learn the new rules and get their voters to the polls anyway and get rid of scum like Graham, Hawley, McConnell, Jordan, Greene and the rest of these Trumpist scum. Crying about voter suppression won’t change a thing. Extremely high voter turnout is the only way to rid this country of these a$$holes forever.

By that same point the VAST majority of the people there on Jan 6th did NOT enter the capitol building. They weren’t trumpets who invaded the capitol, they were just opportunists and hangers-on.

It does not make me feel better to have to recount the ways in which Trump weakened the country. It makes me sad, and concerned, that we are weaker. And it makes me less optimistic the country can fully recover given the failure of folks like you to acknowledge everything on the list I made is true.

It no longer about punishing wrong doing, if it ever was, it is about making damn sure that anyway who strip the DC elites if their power will never again have the opportunity.

 

You're making two assumptions. One is dressed up as a terrible attempt at an analogy and is untrue, and the other is rank speculation.

First, you claimed that the people who entered the Capitol building and committed treason were just hangers on. Untrue. Many are being prosecuted just now, and the organized "leadership" were white supremacist militia members. Thy were invited to DC by Trump on that specific day, and encouraged to "march on the Capitol" to "stop the steal", i.e. interfere with and stop the certification of the EC vote. The militia types in their ranks kept in communication with one another and had "marching orders". At least some of them were organized after being invited to DC on that date. Just because all of them didn't enter the Capitol doesn't change any of that.

Second, you still assume that BLM were the ones "rioting and looting". Where did you get that from?
