Why do Republicans hate the children? It is Republicans who are using the children as a bargaining chip (pardon the pun). In addition, their strategy puts 800,000 young people who call America their home in limbo. They simply don't care.

A recent Harvard-Harris survey similarly found support for letting DACA recipients stay in the country. That survey found about two-thirds of Republicans support a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants protected under DACA.

Republicans should deal with the Dreamers, fund CHIP to take care of the children and pass the freaking C.R.

If you had read my post, you would know that is the problem. Read my post.

If you did, as usual, you are completely missing the point. It is the Trumpian way. Just ignore facts you don't like.

So? they did it in 2013. The difference this time, is president shythole can't be bothered with telling them to provide a separate bill for the military and instead, went on a rah rah tour in Pennsylvania.

When will the shythole twitter-in-chief is going to be this "great negotiator" he claims to be. You are enabling a baby in the WH to play the blame game instead of being a leader. And you sit here and complain about others playing the 'victim' card.

Trump said that from a historical standpoint, 'when they talk about the government shutdown, they're going to be talking about the president of the United States, who the president was at that time.'

'They're not going to be talking about who was the head of the House, the head the Senate, who's running things in Washington.

'So I really think the pressure is on the president.'

NO. Trump shut it down because he wanted taxpayers to pay for a wall since he LIED when he said Mexico would pay for it.

The democrats want to attach it to a spending bill as a stunt thinking they will get away with blaming republicans for there Shutdown of government only it is backfiring on them. Democrats don’t want to limit chain migration and the lottery and feel unless they pull this stunt they will have less leverage.

The Democrats blinked. That was to be expected. They control nothing. They are a minority party in every sense of the word.

Trump did absolutely nothing over the weekend to end the shutdown. He met with no one. Not one Senator has come forward and said Trump talked to him on the phone. Trump didn't call Schumer. He didn't call McConnell. He made no statements to the American people. Over the weekend, the White House remained shuttered. There was no news conference. Beyond a tweet asking for the nuclear option -- which was quickly rejected by the Republican leadership -- Trump didn't do a thing.

The C.R. is for three weeks, and the Democrats were promised that the issue of the Dreamers would be taken up in that time. However, McConnell is already playing it coy. He is talking about immigration, not the Dreamers. Immigration reform is complicated and contains many issues, the wall, chain migration, lottery system, border security (which itself has many issues), status of the eleven million illegal immigrants living in the U.S., etc.etc. Congress has been trying to pass immigration reform for decades.

So, in other words, the Republicans are already trying to complicate the issue. Schumer and the Democrats are talking only about the Dreamers and making them legal by statute. That is agreeable to over 80% of Americans and two-thirds of Republicans. Even Trump has said he loves the Dreamers.

It will be interesting to see what the reaction of the Democrats will be if, at the end of the three-week C.R., McConnell and the Republicans are still dragging their feet on legalizing the Dreamers.

Then there is another fascinating issue. If the Senate passes a bill legalizing the Dreamers, what will the House do? The House will go along with the Senate only if Trump approves.

And no one knows what Trump will do.

    Including Trump.
