What, if anything, will Repubs do to insure or uninsure Americans?

How much does a heart transplant cost? Is it more than a house, do you need the government to buy a house? I know, save your money for a rainy day. Get a loan, put up signs asking for charity/help! Quit feeding off the government, using excuses as of why.

It's simply not affordable to many Americans.
People need to realize that and it costs more because those that can't afford it only use the emergency rooms. And don't pay, so all of us who have health care end up paying.
Why is that so hard for binary thinkers to grasp?
    What say you binary thinkers?

So you need the government to fix the problem. Sounds like the hospitals and surgeons need to go about it differently, allowing for life long payments, and then on to the next of kin. The problem is, money can be printed, so the government goes about it in a way that benefits them, not the people.

Why can't people see that the government cares nothing for the people. They live in their mansions, with servants, 20 cars, a limo, a chauffeur, a jet, and body guards. All from the ignorance of those dependent upon them.

You think banks and insurance companies are not manipulating the way in which the process works in their favor, you think they care about you?

What safety net would people have until they find a job with medical benefits? Anyone who loses their medical coverage due to Trump having repealed ACA won't be hilarious in their minds.

    http://www.heritage.org/research/commentary/2014/11/the-truth-behind-obamacare-numbers

Over 60% of those that gained "insurance" under Obamacare simply gained coverage under Medicaid, further straining that system. Over 80% of those don't have dependent children, they are able-bodied Americans who need to go out and find a job.

Of course, that's not what this is about. It's about making as many people dependent on the government as possible.

When you actually make LESS by working at one of Obama's Taco Bell jobs than you do by staying at home, you are now permanently on the government's nipple.

If that's your idea of a "safety net", then burn them all.

Besides, none of that really matters, because Obamacare is not self-sustaining. It's not something that can continue even if people actually wanted it to.

LOL. You really think a business wants payments for life? And if the person dies?
But no, I don't need the gov't to fix it. Unless the gov't does it for the people and not the health insurance industry and big pharma's.
But the industry itself won't fix it, hell they created it.

Yea for the two tiered English where at least the rich can get decent healthcare without having to worry about ambulance stacking or dying after an eight day wait in the emergency room...

Funny you should mention that fact. I don't think some on this site understand cost to American families.

Are these personal attacks really necessary? It seems to me that if you can't afford X, then you do without X.

That's the way it is with food, shelter, clothing, and ferraris.

If you don't like it, then... well I dunno, there's lump it or leave it.

Business plans. You can just download you one from the internet and go into a bank and they will give you tons of money because you have a business plan. You crack me up.

It amazes me with comments like this when our government allowed NAFTA, outsourcing and now robots to take away millions of jobs leaving millions of people unable to find a job that can support their families. Your response to saying they should just find a job is heartless.

Yes. Letting people die because they cant afford a pill or other treatment is the same as buying a car.
Especially in the richest country in the world.

Quote:<<The excess waste liberal programs have bestowed, when cut, can pay for long-term investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, and military

These projects will put people to work, stimulating not only top-down but bottom-up flow of currency. These are people who may be without a job now>>

Ah... this fantasy of everyone being employed in the economy *by the private sector alone* at above poverty level wages, thus eliminatimg the need for government programs. Never mind if people starve while waiting for the fantasy to materialize.

We got that already. It the Republican mantra

You build the economy then deal with the inefficiencies. The liberals just ignore the economy, hence why they are out of power...

And when the government decides it cannot afford various medical procedures, or you do not qualify for a procedure, or they have too many people in line and you have to just wait...you die. Ask a vet.

Nobody disagrees there is a problem, its obvious the cost of health care is too high. But why is the cost so high? The democrat plan does nothing about that problem.

Here is a clue. Where I work, everyone has an HSA so there is an incentive for each person to shop around. We very quickly learned that if we offer to pay a doctor immediately and to waive the insurance, the bill immediately drops 25-30%. The doctor gets paid immediately instead of waiting 30-90 days for the insurance company to pay, and the doctor does not have to file paperwork or go through a review process.

The problem is not the health care system but the payment system (and that's largely the govt).

    Oh absolutely.

The NAFTA designed and planned by one Bill Clinton, and whose globalist "free trade" agenda also completely supported by his "wife" Hillary Clinton.

Globalists of course want to a) take away the jobs and b) make you completely dependent on government services like welfare and obamacare.

A people who are too busy trying to survive cannot pay attention to what is being done to them.....boiling the frog slowly, so to speak.

This is why if people have decent jobs they can afford their own health care, and is, of course, at the root of President Elect Trumps overall plan.

Trump doesn't believe that welfare is a life goal, and we shouldn't either.

    So let's recap.

Conservatives say if you want healthcare you have to get a job...and hopefully one that provides healthcare...

Never mind the fact that these same conservatives claim that unemployment is 30% or whatever.

And then they tell us that we actually should be paying for healthcare out of pocket (ignoring the fact that serious illness can run into the hundreds of thousans and often millions of dollars

And barring that good job or that huge amount of wealth...we die.

    Nice

The states, when they established their union, delegated to it a very small, distinct set of legislative powers. The power to ensure that their citizens have health insurance was not one of the powers delegated.

Free trade is supposed to lower prices of goods and services for consumers, which it does.

However, as you say, jobs are lost in the process.

So 'fair trade' rather than 'free trade' might be a solution; but does Trump's idea of fair trade fit the bill?

Actually, Keynes proposed a new global fair trade system at the Bretton Woods conference in 1944, as part of a new post war financial system; but this was rejected by the (self-interested) Americans at this time when America was the world's number one creditor nation and its most successful trader. Ironically, now that the US is the world's largest debtor nation, and losing jobs overseas, they are crying foul; thus Trump (rightly so) intends to do something about it.

But what effect will his plan have on the already massive federal budget deficit, ie, cutting personal and company taxes, while simultaneously increasing government expenditures?

Quote:<<This is why if people have decent jobs they can afford their own health care, and is, of course, at the root of President Elect Trumps overall plan.>>

Wouldn't it be great if people - everyone, everywhere - could have decent (above poverty level) jobs! [But what about those who will starve while we wait for Trump's plan to work - people need to eat and pay for health bills now, not next year].

Personally I would love to see Trump authorise federal printing of US$100 trillion (debt free) immediately, to fund a mix of well paid public and private sector jobs, as required to establish and maintain full employment, [Ie, zero un/underemployment, with none of this '1 hour a week' qualifying as 'employed' nonsense, which staticians use to disguise the true unemployment problem].

Note: the resources, know-how, and materials are all currently available, but
such a solution would require adoption on a global scale ( as Keynes realised).

Otherwise, Trump can try his 45% tarriff on Chinese goods, and see where that goes.....(and btw, the WTO does not agree with Trump that the Chinese are 'currency manipulators'.

My mom only has a certain number of dollars to see her thru. You want to dilute the purchasing power of her dollars by an additional $100 trillion? That seems pretty (*)(*)(*)(*)ty to me.
