Yep.. and they giggle about it as the stuff of legends that pre date Islam. The only link that I can find is the Book of Jubilees.

I really don't care what you believe about Jesus or Moohamid or anything for that matter. I do care if you try to force people to respect your beliefs. Just believe what you want and leave the rest of us out of it!

    Nice catch.
I wish more people on this forum were more into giving REFERENCES (like you often do) to support their views rather than the "Not one gives a (*)(*)(*)(*) what Moo-Slums think" type of thinking, which I myself succumb to sometimes as well.

Don't forget a magic flying horse with a human head that Mohammad rode on! The homeless guy on the corner near my house has hallucinations, but none as crazy as that one.
Don't forget magical genies ("jinns") that Mohammad said could be living in your nose as we speak. The 'shrooms those people had access to back in those times was some powerful, powerful shiite!
Don't forget Mohammad "splitting the moon".

But Islam does have a bit FEWER crazy magical fairy tale characters than the Bible, I believe. So Christianity might be, by that metric at elast, more crazy than even Islam, I argue.

Oh. My. God. Or whatever Modern Secular Humanists use in replace of God in this sentence.

    We actually agree on something.

Giving references would go a long way in making, defending, and refuting points. Unfortunately people would rather say "Not one gives a (*)(*)(*)(*) what Moo-Slums think" rather than something actually intelligent and that contributes to the discussions.

    Question.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you bother clicking the title of the thread if you don't care about the topic, to make a post like this?

You obviously care a little bit, enough to click the thread and leave a reply, otherwise you would have just kept scrolling down the list of threads and ignore it.

Oh. My. Scientific-method. (Nah, that sounds too corny.) :)

But you're probably wondering who's name we yell out during SEX, aren't you? "OH DAWKINS, YES, YES!!" (Nah, the mental image of a 65 year old Oxford professor jumping into our minds at that moment is a real turn-off....trust me.)

Valid point, but I assume that it was because Vanka knows that "spread by the sword" applies very much to Islam, as that's been much (but certainly not all) of it's history throughout the years....starting with the original Jihadist (Mohammad). So Vanka was trying to point that out.

Freedom of religion, something countries that turn Muslim do not actively believe. Protected by the glorious Constitution of the United States. In God We Trust.

Islamic conquest only last about 100 years.

The Arabs had extensive trade from Yemen to the Indus Valley to East Africa, Egypt, the Levant and Mesopotamia that predated Islam.. So much of their "conquest" was thru trade and marriage.

Well actually, Muhammad (peace be upon him) spread Islam through poetry.

The only reason the Muslims pick up a sword was because the Quraish pushed them to it. If the Muslims didn't defend themselves, they would have continued to be oppressed, tortured, and slaughtered.

But even despite all the Quraish have done, when the Muslims conquered Mecca, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) made sure the people of Mecca were not harmed.

When fighting, the Quran is clear, that Muslims mustn't be the aggressors of war. The only time we can pick up arms is in self-defence. And once the other end stops fighting and ends it's oppression, then we must stop fighting as well. How peaceful would the world be if this was the standard for war...

It is pretty apparent that countries facing larger Muslim populations experience increased intolerance of viewpoints by the Muslim population. Countries that turn to Muslim politics are brutal to opposing viewpoints.

This is Islam in Yemen and being called for in Egypt by the Muslim Brotherhood:

Okay, thank you. So you don't know from actually living there, you only base your opinion on an entire country from what you see on the news or the internet?

Well in that case, America must be a country of murderers.

It is pretty apparent that countries facing larger American populations experience increased murder rates by the American population. Countries that turn to American politics are brutal when it comes to murder.

This is America in Iraq, and being called for in Iran by the "Israeli" lobby:

LOLOL.. Yemen has a half dozen warring terrorist factions.. and has been a mess since I was a girl.

Why don't you take up some serious study if you are actually interested in the subject?

Because it's so much easier to sit down on a nice comfy couch and partake in some brain cell genocide, or a more moderate term, watching FOX News.

It's much easier to just search, Islam is bad, on Google and base your opinion on others people's biased opinions.

Another member here posted a thread about al-Mahdi. There were videos in which Glenn Beck (!!!) talked about al-Mahdi and the one who posted it actual considered it educational. The forum reached a new low for me at that point...

Of course it is much easier to blame islamaphobia on Beck and ignore what is happening in the world in the name of Islam.

Because if your "belief" should include the belief that you are entitled to demand others respect it then I do indeed care. And you must admit, Islam certainly has a history of that sort of behavior. Just look at the riots and killings that have happened just because someone disses your beloved profit.

Like I said, I don't care what you believe but I'm here to tell you to leave me out of it. I don't respect Islam, or any faith for that matter, and I won't be intimidated into giving it respect either. In this country it's your right to believe in the tooth fairy and its my right to make jokes about it. Neither of us have the right to demand respect for what we think or say. That can only be achieved by the power of ones ability to pursuade.

Someone here - "sharia" - started an attack against Christians in the name of Muslims - but this someone is not a Muslim. The intention was to produce hate against Muslims - what's not very difficult if somewhere in the world idiots and/or organized criminals are attacking ambassadors of the western world. The same time others in the world tried to blame Jews for nothing in the same context ...

Yes, just like we Christians believe it is blasphemous to sat rhe Jesus was not the son of God and one in being with the Father.

This is why Islam and Christianity are fundamentally opposed and irreconcilable.

    Well congratulations. Honesty about islam.

When islam talks about "people of the book" it doesnt include Christians and Jews. Christians believe the New Testament - Jesus as Son of God, divine birth, crucifiction, resurrection - and are therefore infidels to be murdered, tortured, quartered, and all those nice things the quran says should be done to "blasphemers".

islam plays a shell game by redefining the word "christian" so it does not mean what we in the US think it means. Its a word game to make islam appear peaceful when islam requires true Christians to be butchered.
