And the GOP did it....by CRUSHING (Mitch McConnell's word) the Tea Party in the Senate Primaries.

NOT ONE Tea Party primary challenger took out an incumbent "RINO" Republican Senator....not one.

    - - - Updated - - -

While rightwingers vew current events and history in a "breitbarted" selectively edited version of reality that tells them they are NEVER wrong or NEVER "really lose or that THEY are the "true majority".

It's why everybody on the Right was shocked when there was no "Romney Landslide".....but then pretended they "knew he would lose the whole time" after Election Day 2012.

Their Media never warned them of the truth or reality.

It's all just a matter of perspective. If you're standing on your head, then the whole world appears to be upside down. ;)

Once nominated, there really was never a chance Romney would win. All one had to do was look at the electoral college while ignoring all the polls that dealt solely with the popular vote.

Romney also lost the popular vote in 2012 by a margin of 47.2% to 51.1%, so all that was really necessary was to count the votes.

Romney just didn't have that trust factor. All the polls done during the election cycles never showed his favorables overtaking his unfavorables. Obama's was never that hot, ending up with 51-47 favorable over unfavorable, almost identical to the popular vote. How about that.

I'll have to take the word of those in whose heads they fester, fixations largely induced by ideology-radio entertainers. There's little evidence that they thrive anywhere else.

Meanwhile, the Turdblossom and the Turtle giving the TPs a spanking is where the action is. Jebby "Illegal Immigration is an Act of Love" Bush has strongly suggested that Landslide Willard's pandering to the wacko birds last time was his downfall. It'll be fun to watch Jumbo snub the fizzling faction as he tries to rally moderate Republicans without alienating moderate Democrats. His calculus addresses the reality that the record-low turnout of '14 will not be repeated in '16, and a hardcore ilk will be drowned by the mainstream American electorate.

True, Obama's easy victory of 332 to 206 was called early, and had been a foregone conclusion all along. It would have been funnier if he could have contrived to win while losing the meaningless popular vote - and, especially if Jebby had been his opponent. (Although putting Barack's sibling in charge of a state with a hopelessly screwed up count would be unrealistic.)

What is this "left wing radio" to which you listen?

If it actually quotes folks like Turlte McConnell when he brags about "crushing" the TPs everywhere. I'd enjoy such candid reportage.

If these are electromagnetic transmission that can be received outside your head, please let me know where to tune in.

    Thank you.

So after all these pages of childish name calling, finger pointing and calling others racists, we finally figure it out that it is coming from an admirer of George Wallace. ::roflol:

His record shows that man was able to finally transcend his racism.

If that upsets you, it's unfortunate.

Not only Turtle McConnell's boast that the GOP's country clubables would "crush them everywhere!" has the TPs in a tizzy.

As they fantasize about some characters that are about as likely to secure the presidential nomination as their leader Rush Limbaugh is an odds on favourite to win the hand of Rosanne Barr in matrimony, the Party's adults have begun the winnowing, and TPs confront a formidable albeit minuscule stampede of charging RINOs.

Can't you envision as slick a promotional television ad as the fat cats can buy in which Jebby delivers his famous "Illegal immigration is an act of love" speech as the camera zooms back, the lights come up, and the revealed TP chorus that makes the Mormon Tabernacle Choir look like Borscht Belt impersonators of the 90s rock group Creed is gradually amped up as they intone "All you need is love!" as a blizzard of hanging chads descends on the cheering throng.

    That's show biz!

looks to me as if the GOP has it's extremists pretty much under control, not totally as Cruz demonstrated last weekend but better than 2010 for sure. If I were a democrat I would be worrying about my own backyard instead of looking over the fence.

looks like the recent midterm shellacking the GOP gave the Democrats has the party searching for it's message. The issues they campaigned on last summer did not seem to get their voters off the couch in November and led to a huge loss in their party affiliation afterward. Dems have been bleeding voters since 2008 most significantly in the youth demographic that went overwhelmingly Obama in 2008 by 66%.

that mental image just caused me to darn near lose my breakfast.

When did this happen? Were their big budget cuts in the janitor/custodian budget? Seriously, you can get an 18 pack of Charmin for like $15.

Despite their spanking by the party's corporate toadies, the chronic snivelers are still hellbent on sniveling.

    Poor Boehner!

The TP snivelers will have a lot to snivel about during the 114th Congress.

    They've already begun.

It's called political opportunism, the Democrats are masters of it.

Your bitterness induces a cynicism that only hurts yourself if you surrender to it.

    Be kind. Be generous.

George Wallace evolved. You can as well.

On the other hand, Strom Thurmond never did....he moved to the Party which rejected its previos support for civil rights to take in the old George Wallace voters....the GOP.

BTW, sort of gives it away when somebody calls rejecting racism "political opportunism", huh?

Video games allow those so inclined to slaughter people in wild abandon without the adverse implications and consequences of actually doing so in the real world.

The Republican-controlled House delighted in that luxury, indulging itself in empty gestures such as obsessively voting more than 50 times to repeal or defund all or parts of nationalized RomneyCare.

Suddenly, they must confront potential actual victims of their ideological self-indulgences. Their frivolous antics now have implications.

They are no longer free to throw irrelevant and irrational tantrums such as closing down Yellowstone National Park whenever a law has them in a tizzy.

Suddenly and unexpectedly for the rabid gamers, reality looms!

The GOP never rejected civil rights. That was the democrat. You can tell that lie until you die, but it will never be true and only stupid people will believe you. George Wallace was still a segregationist when he won 6 democrat primaries in 1972 and would have locked up the nomination if he wasn't shot by a nutjob. He was a lifelong democrat. So were all the other dixiecrats and segregationist democrats that stayed democrats.

In the privacy of your boudoir, you are licensed to articulate any such evocations that arouse you.

"Alexander Throttlebottom" is another politician's sobriquet that Gershwin created, and the utterance of it might afford you comparable satisfaction.

Whoever your "libs" might be, I hope your fantasizing about "squirming" enhances your eccentric indulgences.

    Pleasure yourself, by all means.
