When I see a tattoo on a pretty girl I think, "Uff! I was satisfied to see how pretty she is but she had to spoil it by flaunting her intelligence!"

I don't like tattoos myself, but a lot of you seem to think that they're doing it to attract you. They're not.

The closest I will ever get to having a tattoo is probably when this girl in high school pulled out a marker pen and asked if she could draw on my arm (parents, this what your kids do during math class lol). I ended up with the name of this other girl written in big letters over my arm. Such a d*ck move from her. Marker pens are not that easy to wash off but luckily I had long sleeves to cover up the awkward mess with.

My son used to write all over himself when he was little. I still don't know why he liked using his body as a piece of paper. :confusion:

He took the theory of "blanke slate" (tabula rasa) way too far and way too literally.

Spending $500 on a tattoo is a sign of intelligence to you, eh? :D

    What's intelligent about a tattoo?

Although tattoos - to a certain degree - have been ruined by semi-hipster d0uchebags, I feel they are still very much associated with badass rockstars, army men and people who sell crack on the corner, ie "dangerous boys". Due to this I think it is far more common for women to like tattoos on men than it is for men to like tattoos on women.

Tattoos on a woman is associated with white trashed sluttiness. But I suppose it is very much a generational thing too; most people my age are very open when it comes to tattoos whereas people of previous generation are more likely to puke over them. Not to mention generations before that one. :p

Exactly. No intelligence at all as far as I am concerned.

Most women would probabky say the tattoos on these men make them look hotter. Whereas the same types of tattoos on a woman would turn any guy off faster than a bullet. :)

I don't think it makes them look any better. I just think tattoos are more natural looking on a guy.

Suppose that might be the case. As I already mentioned smaller wrist tattoos can be "acceptable" on a girl but when it comes to bigger body art that covers larger areas it just looks very bad on a female. Usually it looks bad on men too, makes them look dirty and unwashed lol, but especially on a woman are big tattoos= :puke:

The bottom line is that by getting tattoos you limit opportunities. It shows that you were an idiot for at least a while in your life. Nobody would ever refuse to hire someone because they didn't have enough tattoos unless it was for a position as the human comic book in the circus. Many high paying important jobs would be closed to a tattooed person because that look would not project what the bussiness owner wanted to project. By the same token, nobody but a moron would refuse to date someone because they were not tattooed enough, but many people would not want to be seen with a circus side show freak as his or her partner. Simple logic dictates that getting tattooed is a very low percentage move.

That doesn't look good to me at all. He would look better without it, IMO. It's kind of ugly, TBH.

I do not agree with you. Anytime you do something 'because of popularity' you ARE dong it for someone else's attraction.

They're not all doing it because of popularity, and the ones that are doing it for that reason have friends who like it, so again, they're not doing it for you.

How would you know? You don't know why they do it any more than anyone else.

I'm thinking that people who are literally covered in tattoos and piercings and spikes and all of that kind of stuff are probably seeking attention, whether it be negative or positive. A lot of people are like that. They will do almost anything to get attention and to get people to notice them. I've learned that it's usually best to avoid such peeps.

Lmao those people want to avoid you as well.

And how do I know that all people who get tattoos don't specifically want to attract ChrisL from politicalforum.com? I'm making an assumption.

What if you have bad scarring or a big birth mark that makes you insecure and you have a tattoo to cover it up?

Well, if you want your life to be drama free, there are certain types of people to avoid. That is just a fact of life. Not everyone gets along.

I mean attention in general, not from any one person in specific. Are you saying no such people exist? You must be sheltered. There are some crazy ass peeps out there!
