    Good. We agree.

Quite so, that is self-evidently true; the question is what to do about it.

A Job Guarantee, funded by the sovereign currency-issuer, (ie not by raising taxes or borrowing) is the sure-fire policy. Note: this raises the issue of what, how and by whom is 'wealth' created.

Suffice to say wealth can be created in the public and private sectors, wealth including education, public infrastructure, energy creation and distribution, caring for people and the environment, since that's what an economy is for - to improve the lives of people.

Also note: food production only requires c.2% of the workforce today, cf c.20% during the time when classical economic theory - based on 'scarcity' - was developed.

Quite so. But a significant proportion of blacks did not, BECAUSE the rise from poverty is limited to those who can compete in the neoliberal system which, far from guaranteeing full employment, actually guarantees some unemployment (see NAIRU). Blacks of course are more disproportionately affected because of the higher rates of poverty in the ghettos.

Neo-liberalism, compared to all the competing ideologies in the West (including the one that took some of its teachings/slogans and turned it to unleash a crusade in its name, i.e., neo-conservatism), had the most merit. In that sense, and only in that sense, Francis Fukuyama was right in the End of History. He was totally wrong in imagining that better ideologies could not and would not emerge over time and that the ideological battles had ended. In many ways, they are just beginning.
