Though I said I wouldn't wish modding on my worst enemy...I think there are a few posters who might be an asset to PF's mod staff ...

Cubed seems even keeled, and I think they would apply the rules fairly.

Unifier is always respectful and seems to have a high boiling point.

Angedras I've never seen a cross word in their posts.

AndrogynousMale I like surprises....honestly, with a handle like that, I was expecting a hard core progressive dogma parrot.....but he's respectful, seems inquisitive and accepting of opposing opinions, and to have a fairly well rounded world view.

There are others....I'll add them as I remember.

    Surf Yes, I concur.

    Thanks Web.

I'd say Unifier - I always have great debates with him. very respectful and listens even if he doesn't agree.

Webrockk - I would say the same as well

Diplomat 2.0 but I don't think he posts here much (or if he does I don't see it)

Thanks for the vote of confidence to all who mentioned me, but no way man. I can keep a level head most of the time but even I have my heated side that some people can rile up. I get it from my dad, I've got a little angry Republican in me...it usually comes out on those 'special' times of the month actually. :blushes: lol! :D

If I was to ever mod the Abortion forum would have to be off limits for modding for me for sure. I am just way too passionate about that particular topic and couldn't really see myself as being as impartial as I'd ever hope to be there. But I think I'll stick to just reporting posts for my own good and everyone else's. xD

I second Serfin USA. I think that he's shown that he can have a good debate, and would be a good choice for a mod.

Lol! Yet another one of her best qualities on display here. Her honesty. :p

Just stop being on the wrong side of that issue and you'll be fine. You're beautiful in every other regard. ;)

I see a few names mentioned (and a few not) which I strongly recommended while I was an advisor. Sadly though, they didn't seem interested, or were simply too busy (you know who you are).

I would cast a vote for Really People, Cubed, or Unifier from the names listed. They have the right stuff, provided they're able to drop partisanship at the door.

IMO, a good moderator is someone who's able to both eliminate bias from their decision making process, and also cares enough about this forum to simply enforce the rules, regardless of who's breaking them. Oh... and someone who has spare time, a good deal of it!

How is this different than a personal attack? I feel like the point is to say who would make a good moderator, not to point out the people we don't think would.

PS. I think the suggestions of surfin usa and Pasithea (spelling) are good ones.

I haven't seen Surfin USA's posts much, he must attend forums/sub-forums I don't go into very often.

Unifier should be a mod for sure too, he's too much fun not to be one! =D No but seriously Unifier makes great posts and is very articulate, I think he has what it takes.

I still stand by OkGrannie as being one too, I mean she wouldn't be a Forum Advisor for no reason right?

And zomg, with you guys all giving me so much credit I seriously might consider this whole mod thing if they ask me.

I feel like real libertarians tend to be most capable of getting along with both sides, but they actually agree with both sides (depending on the issue). I of course mean actual libertarians, not conservatives pretending at libertarianism, but who support interventionist foreign policy, big business, regulating morality, etc. You strike me as a well mannered libertarian, which for me makes a very good combination for moderation.

All right! I got a vote!

My picks would be SFJEFF, Serfin' USA, Happy Fun Dude, Unifier, and Dutch.

I do wish Smartmouthwoman and Zosiasmom were on more; I would nominate them in a heartbeat.

A really left-field choice would be Waltky, but I have the sense he'd be a good mod.

omg I love Zoiasamom! (sp??) Her posts are always great and she definitely leans towards being a rational moderate from what I see her post.

Watky and all his 'Granny says' posts too, omg he cracks me up. xD

My first vote would be towards Really People. Their isn't anyone I respect more on this site and I imagine most of you can imagine why.

I think Kranes56 has potential to be a mod. Occasionally stubborn but from what I've seen just generally a good person even if I do disagree with a lot of his views.

Then their's Unifier, Zosiasmom, and and he would just post more then I would also have to say XL. I don't see to much of his posts around but they're normally logical and laden with common sense.

Their's one other but his name is completely escaping me right now. He's got a pikachu in his avatar, that's about all I can think of right now.

It's called honest assessment. Examining the good along with the bad. In order to put everything on the table and determine who would be the best fit. Come on, frodly, I know you're not that sensitive.

This is my problem with too much of modern society's attitude. The inability to distinguish honesty from malice. How weak have we become as a culture today? It's embarrassing.

I think Kranes is a little green, but he could grow into a solid mod over time. I didn't realize how young he was until recently. Dude's only about 16. He definitely comes across as mature for his age. I think some of his views might be a bit naive just stemming from lack of life experience, but he's not emotionally reactive like a lot of people and he seems pretty well composed. Which is exactly what you want in a mod. If this were baseball, I'd promote him to my Triple A team and see how he does there and if he looks comfortable, I'd promote him to the big leagues.
