Because guns are the ultimate guarantee against a government becoming tyrannical. It may take decades or centuries, but any nation where a populace is unarmed is doomed to have a tyrannical government eventually.

But according to your argument that shouldn’t matter. You claimed the issue is about decline in Christian faith and fatherless homes. Both of those exist in many other countries yet they don’t have the mass shooting problem the US has.
And again, you’ve yet to explain why not having a father causes someone to commit mass murder.

I read that book well over 40 years ago. While he did criticized Christianity, he viewed his ethnic group as divine and above all others. Further, he spared no effort to turn the churches into his allies and they happily assisted him in his evil deeds.

Its not as simple as no father leads to mass murder

Because most boys without fathers adjust to their handicap or suffer in silence

But it creates a void in some who grow up not knowing what the proper role of a man should be

It’s probably less likely where I live than where you live. And there are more guns around here than you can count. I’m in a combination of a few of the most dangerous occupations there are. My odds of dying a nasty death are greater than most people. Yet....no fear. Fear of mass shooters is irrational. That’s a fact.
