There's only two ways you lose an election

1, you don't excite your base enough to get out and vote. And I'm sorry for the Democrats but they revived the corpse and animated it through the campaign.

2 you also could lose an election by your opponent simply exciting their base more.

I don't think this was the case in 2016.

And, for the admittedly small contingent of those of us who have actually held government security clearances, the sure and CERTAIN understanding that Hillary Clinton is so negligent, arrogant, ignorant, abusive, and STOOPID that she should never, under any circumstances, have anything further to do with national security OR classified information again!

For so many reasons, including the ones I've added, we 'dodged a bullet' when we avoided electing her. A very, very LARGE one.

You mean all of the states except California. Trump only lost the popular vote because of California, where he lost by 4.3 million votes.

yes, California is a left leaning state like Texas is a right leaning state

pint is, Trump got millions less votes from American voters then Hillary, but Trump still won through affirmative action for the smaller states

can you imagine the outrage if Obama lost the popular vote but still won... I can

I remember towards the end of Bush vs. Gore, pundits warning that Gore might win the electoral vote, and not the popular vote. The popular vote is just an artifact of the real election. The electoral vote is a major firewall against election corruption. It keeps that corruption from polluting too much of the country.

Trump's level of corruption is nowhere near Hillary's. He doesn't know how Washington works. Not saying he isn't corrupt, but that his level of corruption is lower than Hillary's. Heck, she was the most corrupt First Lady in the history of the U.S. with the FBI files she had in her office from political opponents at that time.

personal email usage in no way compares to the stuff Trump and his team of buffoons have done... which ironically also includes using personal email

Trump is also using his own person cell phone which has server software on it as well - maybe even software like WhatsApp

Then Hillary is the same for however you want to put it for the Democratic nomination. You've not refuted my point. Hillary got the popular vote, i.e. the most individual votes, but Trump got elected because of the electoral college college set up. Likewise, Bernie got the popular vote for nominee for the Democratic party, but Hillary got selected because of the super delegates set up.

So basically you can't be upset on how Trump beat Hillary and not on how Hillary beat Bernie without being hypocritical. Both took the selection away from another having the more individual votes. Hillary lost by the same method that she won the nomination by. She got what she deserved.

And for the record, either one of them winning was/would be a loss for this country, IMHO. So please don't even bother playing the Trump supporter card on me. Bernie, Stein or Johnson would have been better than either of them.

It actually succeed admirably, preventing the populous, urban, coastal states from overwhelming the more numerous rural 'flyover America' (that Alec Baldwin would actually use the phrase is incredibly revealing).

But that was something Hilary did personally whilst for Trump it was something his cronies did. Personally I think Hilary's mistake was no big deal it was the way the FBI showed favouritism to her which actually hurt her, reinforcing the impression of her as elitist and privileged.

You agree to the rules of the race beforehand you can't complain when you lose by them, it could easily have been the other way around.

if you complain when you think the first black President won with less votes, expect it to be rubbed in your face when you do win with less votes ;)

can you imagine the outrage if Obama lost the popular vote but still won... I can

as the post you replied to shows, Trump did, Trump called for a revolution in fact, so Trump has no right to complain when people rub it in his face his winning with less votes

It is predictable as flies on dog crap -- whenever some political faction loses a presidential election because of its inability to secure the necessary majority in the Electoral College, the first thing they do is bitch and complain that we need to get rid of the Electoral College....

The very wise founders of this nation didn't want us to be like England, where ONE city could essentially dictate everything to the rest of the country -- LONDON. The very wise founders of this nation didn't want us to be like France, where ONE city could do the same thing to the citizens of its country, letting PARIS have all the power.

But in today's American huge urban enclaves where Democrats, homelessness, 'sanctuary', crime, near-bankruptcy, soaring taxation plus skyrocketing prices are the rule, wanna-be socialists and hyperliberals would be delighted if only about seven cities controlled our entire national destiny -- all of them liberal pestholes run by radical Democrats.

Easy to see that you didn't want to have to respond at all to what I said about WHY we have an Electoral College in the Constitution. I've never seen a liberal Democrat yet who ever wanted to talk about THAT....

Instead of arguing with your use of Trump's 'tweets', I'll simply REMIND you that this is why we have the CONSTITUTION! It and its amendments are our rock-solid foundation -- the very basis upon which we identify and conduct ourselves as a nation.

It should not ever be made the 'play thing' of any one political party, or any one man -- no matter who that person is or what that political faction says it represents. And, a half-dozen big, Democrat-dominated urban areas in the country shouldn't dictate everything of importance to everyone else in a country of 327 million people!

not sure why you want to avoid Trump's tweets, any president with tweets like that for the prev President who then wins with less votes deserves to have said tweets rubbed in his face

not sure why you want to avoid talking about the Electoral College. THAT is why Hillary lost the election (you know... thread TOPIC and all...?). :dual: Nobody I know of really gives a sh!t about what anybody puts in a 'tweet' anyway, but it's an easy way to control dialogue with the simple-minded among us -- and there's LOTS and LOTS of them.... :spin:

I have no issue talking about it, it's a fact that Hillary lost because of the electoral collage even though she got millions more votes then Trump... that is just a fact

it's also a fact that when Trump thought Obama won with less votes he had a twitter spasm calling for a revolution over it... too funny that it was Trump, not Obama that won with less votes... Sad!

you guys are so funny, you have to defend trump, but attack us... for the same thing, makes your job tough doesn't it ;)

each of Hillary's votes was worth less then the man she ran against, Hillary got Millions more votes then Trump, what that says is millions more American voters wanted Hillary than Trump - but yes, Trump the looser still won
