... too sane and sensible to impress a bunch of angry, frustrated voters who were desperate for change and went for the "outsider" who said the sorts of things they had been thinking and saying.

so tell me what intrastructure project would you propose for a small rural town in the middle of the corn belt in Iowa? that would be self sustaining after its completion so the government doesn't have to continue to dump money into it

and I will repeat this because you failed to address this truth

to grow economies you have to create wealth not redistribute it and all government spending does is redistribute wealth government isn't capable to create wealth they produce nothing
what your idea does is the same as taking a bucket of water out of the deep end of the pool dump it into the shallow end of the same pool then claim you raised the water level of the pool

The consensus is that the national democraptic party is for arab muslims, illegals, BLM violent activists, public union employees, and their own power - nothing else.

The real question should be: Why did Democrats lose?

Because there was no reason they should have lost. They GAVE the election to an unfit, incompetent, opponent.

I’m a bit more brutal in my assessment of the Democratic party. I left the Dems a couple of decades ago, and became an Independent. I hated the Dems weak, weak, stance on immigration, legal & illegal. I’d prefer less immigration, period. And, enforce the dam laws, already.

Running Hillary - again - was a huge mistake, imo. Like millions of other people, I can’t stand her. The Democratic leadership shoved her down our throats as if she were a serious candidate. She wasn’t. Too much baggage. Too unlikeble. Too many people don’t trust her, including me. I wouldn’t vote for her again unless someone stuck a freaking shotgun in my face. And now the nasty thing is making noises like she might want to run again in 2020. How sick is that?

Democrats lost for two reasons. First, a candidate who couldn’t possibly suck more: Hillary.

Second, the Dems have tied themselves to Identity Politics. Representing various groups, such as blacks, gays, hispanics, women, muslims. I mean, get real, dumb@sses, you’re running to represent ALL of the people, not just “special” groups.

I especially didn’t like the way the Dems were so disgustingly obsequious when it came to the BLM group. The BLM trouble-makers had been obnoxious and mouthy, barging onstage at Dem events, rioting, causing workers and shoppers problems, blocking roads, just acting like brainless AHs and criminals. Screw them. The Dems should have had the BLM clowns dragged out of their events.

And, Dems had NO message. “Stronger Together”? Get serious.

Our people are hurting financially. All people, not just blacks, hispanics, or gays. White folks are hurting, too. They also have worries, and bills to pay, and families to feed. So why aren’t you talking to them, too?

And why was Hillary so absorbed by Wall Street? Made a ton of money there, then expects us to believe she’s not in their pockets? She wouldn’t even release the text of the speeches she had delivered, at 250,000 dollars a pop. Why? Afraid we'd find out what she had promised those blood-sucking parasites?

Then, there’s the corruption within the DNC. Wasserman-Shultz helping Hillary while doing everything possible to sink Bernie Sanders.

The Democratic party is one sick puppy. But everything I’ve read, that comes from the party bigwigs, tells me they still have NO clue what they’re doing. The arrogance, and condescencion, and corruption, is palpable. They need wholesale change, not bandaids. They’re walking around like they’re “all right”, just hit a small bump in the road. They’re full of themselves. They deserved to lose. And they’ll lose again in 2018 and 2020 if they can’t be honest with themselves about how much they suck, and why. They should hand out barf-bags at their events.

D's used to support the middle working class. That went out the window with hubby. I'm guessing more of the same was in the cards.
I made my mind up long ago. No more clinton or bush's.

The usual nonsense by the far left, incapable of making a cogent argument or debating with an original thought.

    Pretty much spot on.
I never really belonged to wither party. I think they just play good cop/bad cop. Switch roles every few years.

    It isn't very complicated.

Blacks underperformed in Detroit and Milwaukee, and Western PA was a shocker.

    Pretty simple actually.

The left has to stop demonizing the rich, the white and the religious. This is still a majority white country.

I know they can't wait until that's no longer true but for now it is.

I found the Democratic Convention viscerally repulsive in its emphasis on identity politics and was sickened by the divisiveness it represented and endorsed. The abandonment of the middle and working classes was also obvious, as was the intended exploitation of both to pay taxes for its pet "groups" and their "needs". The un-American burning of US flags, the BLM toadying, and the indifference to real security concerns regarding terrorism-inclined immigrants (probably made that way by Mideast meddling for special interests willing to pay Hillary) were also offputting. IMO it's not a party that even attempts to represent average US citizens, and is so contemptuous of them that it doesn't even try to look like it is.

Okay, what is it with seeing what you want to see?

    Burning flags at the DNC?

    Divisiveness at the DNC?

    That simply did not happen.

the reason is simple, too many dems did not vote as they did not think Trump stood a chance of winning

"Fake news"? The democrats openly admit they use identity politics and make no effort to conceal it. Drop the ridiculous slogans, and try some facts on for a change, they might fit.

GOP has the same problem. Trump defeated a field of the most talented GOP candidates and actually thrashed them.

    Bullshit Trumps intelligence and science.

After his, "leave your kids at home so you can campaign for Hillary" speech at the DNC, because "the 8 year old can always teach the 4 year old how to use the microwave", they'd be better off running Pee Wee Herman.

The only democrat that could swing anti-establishment independents and establishment dems is Dennis Kucinich, but they'd have to come down from their ivory tower to be able to understand what is going on 1st.

Working class people know they'd foot the bill for Bernie's programs. And free college holds no value when girls are the only ones who want to go anymore and get in easy enough, already.

Kucinich is the Ron Paul of the democrats. Everyone trusts him.

compared to 2008 and 2012 yes but those were outliers blacks turned out in mass because there was a black candidate
you wont ever see those types of turn out again by blacks unless you run another black candidate. especially now days and that is because of democrat own doing with their identity politics causing the deep divide between blacks and whites.
why would blacks turn out in mass to elect a white candidate reinforcing that candidates so called "white privilege"
Clinton tried to over come that fact knowing it will be a struggle to attract as many blacks to vote for her as Obama had, but by doing so all she did was alienate the white vote with her talk of white privilege and all

That's inaccurate since more Democrats voted than Republicans. Trump out-hustled Hillary. She had a sense of entitlement. She didn't focus on the States that would have given her the win.

Democrats have been loosing since 2010. Under President Obama's watch, democrats lost 11 governorships, 13 U.S. Senate seats, 69 House seats, and 913 state legislative seats and 30 state legislative chambers. These numbers are pretty bad, even for the historical ebb and flow of our two party system.
So how is it a shocker that Democrats lost the presidential election?
