Why didn't Trump ask the January 6th rioters to stand down earlier?

Many witnesses put him at the White House. Trump said recently his security detail wouldn't allow him to march; I believe there's evidence he'd already been told that in the days leading up to the speech but I may be not wrong.

    Except he didn't even try.

This is disputed. I don't think there's any documentary evidence of Trump asking for the national guard, only reports of testimony from multiple individuals. I've not looked into the provenance of that. But wasn't this only reported recently? Why didn't he say so immediately after the fact? He's not slow to blame people. But it's definitely an important point to clarify.

If this were his reason, then it would be a hugely childish gesture. You put the lives of congresspeople potentially at risk for something so petty? I don't know if that would make it better or worse.

No, they banned him for spreading misinformation about the election.
It was certainly great PR for the left, I'll give you that. Alternative thesis - Trump was gratified at all these people willing to break the law for him and didn't want to tell them to stop. This is roughly what has been testified to. Possible, no?

You don't know that. He told them to be peaceful during his speech, later he told them to go home.

I critiqued all of those reasons except one, and you never came back to me on that. Here's the other reason: "He was pissed off and angry that he felt he had been cheated. He was hoping the protests on Jan 6 would change some peoples minds. He was NOT expecting people to attack the Capitol. When it happened he was so pissed off that rather than immediately tell them to stop he limp wristedly covered himself on Twitter so he could say he said something. He had no intention of violently overthrowing the government but he also felt grievously wronged and cheated. So rather than jump up quick to respond he took his time.
"Was that morally wrong? Yes probably. He probably should have acted quicker and he let his anger and the moment get away from him."

So you're agreeing with me, as I said in the other thread. I've no idea why you still make out there's a disagreement.

You can't seriously believe that's true. Really? You think the POTUS can't override other people? I bet you think he was actually brave enough to go to the Capitol with the mob he invited and incited and the only reason he wasn't there was because his SS detail said "no".
So, if I'm understanding you correctly, the angry mob that beat the hell out of police officers are the "innocents" in your fairy tale? Is that the Hollywood ending we're trying to sell here? And, why would the "elites want an insurrection"?
    1. Every rally I've watched online was outdoors. There weren't any windows to break unless people made a mad dash to Air Force 1.
    2. Why are you comparing rallies anyway? What does that have to do with hundreds of people angrily attacking cops and threatening the lives of our VP and Pelosi while Trump stalled for HOURS in calling them off?

Have you ever tried to say that aloud? Can you do it with a straight face? It's hilarious. I just tried. Couldn't do it.

Why is everything always somebody else's fault? He's not six years old (well, mentally he is but he's about 120 human years old). Why would you support someone that is incapable of being honest or taking responsibility for his piss poor decisions? Does it hurt? What's it like? Do you know how long he will keep embarrassing us in front of the world with his pity party? Is it almost done? It's kind of boring and repetitive at this point.

The first police lines were being forcibly breached at 1:30.
"It was like a scene from a war film" one of the officers testified. She said she slipped in her colleagues' blood. So "raising a ruckus" seems a rather generous characterisation. I'm not getting into Babbitt - I've been down that rabbit hole too often. Suffice it to say, I believe you are wrong.

Many people have been prosecuted - were any of those BLM or Antifa? (Honest question; I have no idea)

The lack of significant weapons is definitely a strike against those claiming it was all a carefully choreographed coup.

Not directly; looking at the footage, that may be fortuitous. But there was one death by heart attack and in the following days 4 suicides that seem likely to be linked to the events of January 6th.I imagine there will be testimony about this in the commission hearings so we might learn more.
    What was suspicious?

Yes, some did. Perhaps you could call them complicit? Many did not.

Since it's impossible to disprove conspiracy theories, I'm not going to try. But the first sentence is disputed, and even if it were true, wouldn't absolve Trump from his failure to call the rioters back earlier.

He tweeted multiple times when the violence was ongoing without asking them to leave. He didn't ask them to leave for over 2 hours after they breached the capitol.

He's got bone spurs. He didn't walk with them because...

    1. He's a pathological liar.
    2. He's too fat to do any kind of extra movements (except eating and molesting our flag and trying to kiss other male world leaders).
    3. He needed to not be there because he wanted what went down to go down and he needed plausible deniability.

Short answer: He's a loser and coward.

Simply the fact that he did nothing - that is the point

I try not to claim anything I can't back up with evidence: I think it helps keep the discussion on a more productive path.

Everything I typed can be substantiated by every person on the planet. What do you think is an opinion in my post?

    1. I would be entirely unsurprised to find that were true (but how do you prove it's 'pathological'?). Obviously not every person on the planet agrees with you.
    2. Is basically an ad hom
    3. Is speculation. I've not seen any direct evidence that he wanted people to break into the capitol; only circumstantial evidence. So far, I don't find that evidence compelling enough. But was he happy once they were in there? That looks very likely.

Very very strong circumstantial evidence - and more is coming

~ Anyone who pays attention would be suspicious why this footage was never broadcast on network " news" . Reminds me of the fake reports of Border Agents "whipping " immigrants and trampling them with horses.
It's very obvious the media wants to project a scenario that actually did not happen. Very common ...'

You can see a barrier being wrestled with from about halfway through the video (it's clearest at the end). So you can't say the crowd is being peaceful. Since we can't see the front of the crowd, you have no way of knowing what provoked the teargas.

In the executive dinning room, because it has multiple TV's, just off the Oval Office.
