My uncle was a Civil Engineer. Head of the highway departments bridge division in this state for more than 20 years.

And I said nothing whatsoever about FoxNews

At least they stopped the Cuyahoga from burning, and that was accomplished by reasonable regulations regarding clean water and air.

Its not. I've been to around 30 countries in my life and America has great infrastructure. Only Australia has had better. Many European countries have worse. It seems to be just a line that people like to use to justify spending.

That being said, infrastructure or basically anything is better use of money than killing people overseas or foreign aid.

Because a lot of the bridges we built in the 1960s and 1970s are falling apart. We had a building boom then.

I think by infrastructure we mean government, not engineering.

No, it really mean engineering, as in roads, bridges, waterworks etc...

Most of the budget of western nation is invested in defense and social programs. The money that is supposed to go towards what I mentionned previously is instead invested in "bread and games" vanity projects.

Ha! I like this game, show me more. This particular spot looks like a little used back alley, grass doesn't grow on a road with considerable traffic. At least it has a hard surface, in Idaho that type of road would likely be dirt or perhaps a little gravel mix, but we get far less precipatation.

OMG! We can't fix stuff because I may have to pay for it. Besides our infrastructure is just fine. I live in South Dakota and we only have one bridge and the Interstates (2) are in great shape. Why can't everybody be like South Dakota?

I-70 is a major east - west commercial thoroughfare and it should have gone to three lanes 20 years ago. One truck goes down and trucks will back up for miles (yes, I have seen it several times).

Many of our much admired Interstate highways are strewn with potholes! One through Iowa is especially nice to travel.

The Mississippi River lock and dam system should have been rebuilt or refurbished because it is twenty years beyond its predicted life.

Our rail system is a joke. Anything above 70 mph is a high risk ride.

Sorry if you don't like civil engineer's estimates of $3-4 Trillion to do necessary repairs, maybe you could get Rush Limbaugh to compute an amount to your satisfaction.

Here's a hint: We've spent a couple trillion dollars on middle east wars. We've got the most bloated military in the world - we spend more than the next eight or nine countries combined. It all comes down to choices.

Income redistribution is the left's top priority. Infrastructure is way down on the list.

Utterly untrue to the first nine words. Irrelevant to the remainder.

Many of our older cities like Philly,New York,Boston,Baltimore ,Wash.D.C.have water mains dating to the 1800's same is true of sewer systems,we here in Pa. have many roads and bridges falling apart that date back to the horse and buggy days. Our ports, airports ,seaports all need modernization and upgrading, our election equipment is outdated and more akin to a banana republic that a twenty first century country,we should be able to vote from home on either a PC or a smart phone,we would save millions on the costs of election if we brought them into the modern era.We know many parts of our country have LEAD in our water pipes causing major mental problems for children.

That all sounds like local problems specific to the individual states. I hope you're not asking me to send more money to D.C. so that you can fix your long neglected issues.

Trump insisted that the nation's infrastructure was "crumbling" two-and-a-half years ago, and experts concurred.

The pentagon and our defense department lose track and overspend every year more money than would be required to begin addressing our crumbling infrastructure and bringing it into the modern era.

The U.S. defense department is INTENDED to be inefficient. It is designed that way to prevent one or a small number of officers from gaining too much power.

Why do you believe Trump on this particular issue and not the others?
