I have to assume you’re very rich, or you’re getting screwed and saying thank you. Years ago we paid over half our income in taxes...didnt affect my standard of living one bit.Sounds like you wor ship the rich and really believe that the rich all give jobs. My husband worked on Wall Street, got ridiculously large bonuses and never hired a person. How many times do we have to see trickle down economics doesn’t work.
I don’t consider paying more in taxes being punished. I am Grateful to be able to pay my fair share and help the country
What freebies are you talking about? You mean freebies like education? You mean free bees like infrastructure? You mean freebies like the cops and firefighters ? You mean like the military
You are one of those extremists that believes that we want to take away your jobs and that we hate the rich etc.

You put an interesting twist on an old argument and have been a joy to converse with. I’ve especially appreciated your style of humor. This place needs more of that.

Well if you assume I'm rich your wrong. I am a retired professional driver. I'm glad to hear your wealthy enough that they can take half your income and it didn't hurt you. Many aren't in your financial situation. With the over 90% service and part time jobs created under Obama's policies, I doubt many got rich over the last 8 years. I know for a fact, America had the highest corporate tax in the whole industrial world and record regulations. All that did was chase over 300,000 manufacturing jobs alone during the Obama administration. We can't keep losing jobs like that and have mostly service and part time jobs taking their place. We also need to make trade fairer. We can't afford to have a 800 billion trade deficit with China. If I heard right, we only have a trade surplus with only two of our many trading partners.

America is broke. The only way we can pay our bills is depend on other countries to buy our bonds. We pay over 230 billion every year just on the interest of that debt, not touching a penny on the principle. When Trump took over, this is what our military looked like.

Grounded: Nearly two-thirds of US Navy’s strike fighters ...
    https://www.defensenews.com/naval/2017/02/06/grounded-nearly-two...
Overhauls — "availabilities" in Navy parlance — are being canceled or deferred, and when ships do come in they need longer to refit. Every carrier overall for at least three years has run long, and some submarines are out of service for prolonged periods, as much as four years or more. One submarine, the Boise, has lost its diving certification …

    70% of Marine Aircraft Can't Fly - …
    https://www.independentsentinel.com/70-of-marine-aircraft-cant-fly
Out of 276 F/A-18 Hornet strike fighters in the Marine Corps inventory, only about 30% are ready to fly, according to statistics provided by the Corps. Similarly, only 42 of 147 heavy-lift CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters are airworthy.

That is not a condition that America can afford to allow to exist. You don't build wealth through high taxes. You chase wealth away. You build it with good jobs and good pay and fair trade. You build it by creating jobs, not chasing them away.

We spend around 100 billion a year servicing illegals living in this country with hundreds of thousands sneaking in every year. Yet, the Democrats will not put up any money to build a wall to keep them out. Even though every one of their leaders were for a wall or fence before Trump became President. What could we fund if we had that 100 billion to spend? Maybe free college education. Maybe help provide free or cheap heath care for those who can't afford it? They protect illegal criminals in many of their cities or states. Want to do away with ICE who's job it is to help track down illegal criminals and gang members. While you may not hate the rich, your Party's policies are driving to many off shore.

Thanks but not convinced U have the foggiest notion of what my argument was. Seem to be too busy bombarding me with pre- programed responces from your extensive Rush Limbaugh data base to step off that "Platform" that you claim to have had since you were a fetus. Take a guess... what was my argument?

Well, since you don’t seem to be willing to come out in the open with it I just have to infer from the insinuation and stereotyping you’ve employed.

Most of your beef seems to be with many conservatives basing beliefs on a moral code or absolutes. You’ve repeatedly asked the rhetorical question of who determines what is correct and how. You haven’t been satisfied with the humanist methods I’ve offerred to determine truth.

Your other related argument seems to be hatred for influence on the public from one political wing while ignoring it from another.

It isn’t my job to solve your riddle of oscillation between ego, Rush, truth, and now fetuses which was never part of our discussion.

If you want to make a grand point please do so. It would be fun to discuss something concrete instead of dancing around between things you bring up and then discard as immaterial to your point but you say you brought up to demonstrate said point.

I don't respond to each and every sentence individually as you do. It is not because I am unable to refute them.
I simply do not wish to feed your addiction to verbosity. I realize that is the way the game is played here.
But can't we try something different for a change?

Are you willing to take a closer look at that statement?

However, it's not quite that simple. that is not the rate that many companies in the U.S. end up paying. Deductions and credits help push down businesses' total tax liability, meaning that many companies end up paying far less than the statutory rate and less than other industrialized countries. What I don’t understand is how you whine about us being broke but yet you want tax cuts that hardly benefit you. It might also serve you to realize that under Obama illegal immigration declined every year and is still declining so let’s focus on the billioniares. The reason I thought you would be rich is because you want the ultra rich to get richer. You would rather focus on the poor as though they are the problem. Remember these workers you hate pay taxes imagine if we made the billionaires pay their fair share...we could have what you listed. But I am am sure you are smart enough to know that we couldn’t take the money that we spend on servicing illegals and put it into free college etc.
You worry about the illegal criminals while I worry about Americans who blow up other Americans in mass shootings. You worry about these “rapists” and I worry about women and children and hard-working men fleeing violence ..we just have different values

As long as the right things get done legally who cares?

It usually takes a personal life experience to cut through emotional attachment to an idea. Perhaps an imperfect but certainly demonstrative example is the saying “there are no atheists in foxholes”.

Another as personal as it gets experience is the evolution of my stance on illegality of drugs. As a young man my position was one based on the idea drugs should be illegal because they have the potential to do great harm to individuals and society. The freedom aspect meant nothing to me because I wasn’t interested in partaking. As I got older and was subjected to more and more attempts to encroach on freedoms I valued, I saw the problem with my position. No amount of “convincing” would have likely brought me around without my personal life experiences teaching me about freedom.

Would it matter to you if there were any contradictions in your ideas?

Perhaps "theories" or "opinions" can be "determined by facts, logic, reason, history, and trial and error."
Could U allow that....whether or not they are "The right things" is still a matter of personal preference?

Perhaps? Can be? How do you decide whether to put gasoline or diesel fuel in your vehicle at the station? Never mind choosing between the 3% APR mortgage or the 8% APR.
That “theory” just seems silly until you apply it to serious issues like eugenics, space flight, or pedophilia.

Then pehaps you would feel more comfortable at a "eugenics, space flight, or pedophlia" forum.
I thought your statements refered to political opinions. If they were just generalities, then I will move on to my next question.

Pedophilia will likely be the next push from the sexual freedom crowd. It will be as political or more so than trans and gender.

Space flight is not exactly political but it was mentioned for a reason.

Can’t get much more political than eugenics.

Here we are again, jumping to a new topic when the current one doesn’t elicit the response you need. But sure, lead on...

Ok. Your theory is silly. If you can’t distinguish between new topics and illustrations pertaining to the current debate I’ll try and keep it simple for you. :)
