Oh yes, now I know what you mean! The farmers who feed Sackeshi.

I didn't "catch" anything as far as I know! Not sure how what you said was a dual meaning and I'm not sure how it could've been offensive to farmers!

I thought maybe you were referencing the “feeding” of misinformation that produces Sackeshis. Nothing you have said is offensive to me in any way.

Farmers (agricultural producers of all types) tend to be conservative in their politics. I think recent polls put the number in the 70% range. There is a reason for this and it has nothing to do with Fox News.

I think there are two main reasons.

First, they must have a correct understanding of many subjects to survive. Supply and demand, finance, effect of bureaucracy on business, tax law, purchasing of inputs, marketing, commodities and options trading, real estate, and that’s just a start. Then there are the sciences, not limited to but including physics, microbiology, soils, agronomy, animal science, veterinary medicine, animal behavior, mechanics, and genetics.

None of this knowledge can be purely academic or theoretical. It has to be applied to reality in a way that produces profits on predominantly narrow margins.

It doesn’t take long in the business to realize the superiority of certain political philosophies over others.

Second, historically farmers have been big consumers of news both local and global. It’s all pertinent to profits. Not only do they take in vast amounts information they have the time to digest it. Technology has changed this a little, but in general farmers have had many hours of work each day where the mind can be used to actually think about complex issues/problems and make conclusions without the help of talking heads. In short, they take in raw data, apply logic and reason, and avoid conclusions based on other’s opinions alone.

I of course could be wrong, but I think the stereotyping of flyover people is also based on a couple factors.

    First, plain ignorance.

Second, fear. I think progressivism is inherently fearful of the agrarian class because of their land holdings, economic relevance, general love of freedom and hatred of tyranny. And the unavoidable fact we are not only likely the most well armed segment of society but also the most well versed in the practical application of arms, second only to military veterans. (Interestingly, these two demographics overlap).

Sorry for the rant in reply to your post but felt it was time to play a card following Sackeshi’s claim his superiority came from not getting information from Fox and 45.

    Wrong.
South Carolina did not hold a popular election for President in 1840.
In fact, SC did not hold a popular election for President until 1868
How can a highly-intelligent, well-educated man of the world be so ignorant of these facts?
Nothing in the constitution requires your state to grant you the privilege to vote for President.

In terms of electing the President, it is quite clear.

The population has no right to vote for President - thus, you cannot be right.

Thank god for the electoral college.
    Question is

    1. Is America 1 whole country no states?
    2. Is America 50 individual states that group themselves into a collective country?

OP goes with option 1, those that believe in liberty go with 2.

The GOP uses more wellfair. Let's stop redistributing federal money. That way in can laugh as we see those states turn into the land of skin and bones. They would starve and I am a okay with that. Got to feel the pain of your vote before you will change. Plus we have 1B people who could replace the us .Famers if need be

    Protect=/=provide.

Given your hatred of the country, why don't you just move? Too hard to move to countries with immigration laws with teeth?

You smoking crack? Who started all the welfare spending? Who moans on this forum when GOP or anyone else tries to reign it in? On one thing we maybe agree. Redistribution of wealth should absolutely stop.

However, you round up progressives and conservatives and put each group on opposition sides of the country. Draw a line down the middle and wait to see who crosses that line first out of necessity. It will be the progressives. Want proof? Read some history. Look at our southern border. East and West Berlin Cold War era.

You act like you have brilliant new ideas but they are tired old Marxist trash that lead to misery for everyone

We live in the greatest place mankind ever created and you want to destroy it. I implore you to continue in your efforts. The only weakness those you denigrate have is complacency and you are the cure. Carry on.

Sometimes I fail, but I attempt civil discourse with those I disagree with. I had hoped the OP was looking for that. I hoped his statements were borne of ignorance instead of malice. Obviously my attempt at not offending was a waste of effort on my part. He is offended by my existence. So it goes.

Why can’t someone sue a state they don’t live in?

Geography wouldn’t matter. You can have whatever farmers from whatever ****hole country you desire on your side. You’re already crossing the line by wanting to dictate how the other side operates.

Just like they did in Africa, right?

It went from "**** the white farmers, we'll grow our own food" to "we're starving, we need you to come back."

Maybe we would like them more if they stopped voting.
