You break into someone's home and you willingly risk being blown in half with a shotgun.

 

You do not know their intent.

You do not know if they are armed.

You do not know if they plan on using possessed weapons.

You do know they in your harm, and for all intensive purposes, pose a threat to you and those around you.

 

They shouldn't be stealing property to begin with nor should they be breaking into houses. Period. They crossed the line first.

 

Yes lets protect the perps and make the law abiding citizen the bad guy. Why is it that liberals want to twist everything to fit their demented world view. If you break into someones house, you are breaking the law, you are considered dangerous, maybe you should think about that before breaking into someones house.

Only the predators know for sure. It shouldn't be the job of people to have to judge the intent of people who break into their homes. The assumption should be that a person who breaks into an occupied dwelling is there to harm the residents of the occupied dwelling. That is the safest for the occupants. I don't care about what happens to the predators.

It is. The preservation of life of the occupants of dwelling places is the main concern. A person shouldn't have to worry about the intent of anyone that breaks into their house. The assumption should be that anybody that breaks into an occupied dwelling is planning to do harm to the occupants. If the miscreants don't realize that, they have endangered their own lives. Anybody just looking to steal property does it from places when the occupants aren't present.

A homeowner shouldn't have to take the time (and endanger themselves) by shooting a warning shot. The implicit warning is that if you break into an occupied house, you are liable to get shot.

I"ve known a lot of liberals. I also worked with a lot of dementia patients. None of them have ever been that far off the reservation.

 

just to make the point clear if they were going after her to harm her it would be justified but if they were just going to steal some things a simple warning shot to scare them off would have sufficed
