I remember they had freaking midnight chow, that was actually chow. When we would roll back in the wire, our "midnight" chow was sandwich meat and bread, assuming there was any bread left. The polish liked to take de-icing fluid and bread, and make hootch.

We were p*ssed until we found out what they were doing. After that we let em have all the bread they wanted.

Our last two months in country KBR came in and built a legit chow hall, was amazing. We also finally got a px about the same time, a 15x15 ft plywood room with a few shelves, would open about twice a week.

Were Ripits big when you were in country? They always had em in the chowhall, they were half the size of a regular can. I'd always grab about 5 of em and a few muffins for a days worth of chow. Hated MREs, really don't remember the last MRE where I didn't raft*ck the sides.

Ripit, muffin, and snuff. Good diet.

Yeah, ripits were all over the place. Those things were gold. I used to put myself on COC watch at our BP in the middle of the night (to avoid working parties) and used to drink them to stay up. I found one in a grocery store a while back and drinking it gave me flashbacks like a mother(*)(*)(*)(*)er.

We used to pretty much sustain ourselves on honey buns, oscar meyer muffins, beef jerky, and dry cereal. Then, usually once a day, we'd cook ourselves steaks and burgers with a little hadji food mixed in. For some reason it never occured to our supply guys to give us vegetables or even starches. Just hundreds of pounds of frozen steak and burgers and like 2 packages of hot pockets. We also had a mountain (literally) of 4 year old MREs that we'd avoid as much as possible. I could usually last 3 days on patrol before I had to fall back on them.

I remember sometime in October of 08, we started seeing the new first strike rations show up on our FOB (in clear bags instead of brown). They were actually not too bad, compared to regular MREs. We got a crew together and in the middle of the night went to the MRE shed and grabbed enough to replace all the ones we had strapped to the truck lids of our trucks.

I saw a ripit too in a gas station, it was a big one though, like a Monster. Shoulda bought it cause I haven't seem em since.

We once bought a goat from a local in town, put it in a squad box on the side of an MRAP, threw some feed to it for a few months then ate him. Pretty tasty.

Used to get those drinkable soups in the mail. I'd have the potato soup one, then grab bacon and cheese from breakfast chow, crumble it up and it wash version of a loaded baked potato soup. Amazing.

Thanks, I should have known but do all boxes still say "One Each"?

Remember, real airplanes have "t-i-t gauges"

    Women in Combat? Why?

    Why not?

Show me unbiased data that factually proves that women CANNOT be as capable under any combat condition as ANY male.

Until someone does - I say drop any restrictions for women to enter ANY combat roles.

Frankly, the whole notion of restricting women sounds to me like pure, chauvinistic nonsense.

    BTW - I am a male.

Bagram doesn't just have one DFAC they have, of varying sizes and shapes...at least 7..
Dragon, Koele, Aviation, North, Tower, BTIF and BBQ to name a few. I'm old enough to remember C-rations/MCI which were pretty much dog food, so I have to laugh at the younger generation complain about the food. It's the best fed military in the World, stop your whining.

All combat infantry MOS are rated as heavy lifting required. Women are biologically ill suited for upper body strength.

So now please show me your proof that every single woman in America cannot meet the heavy lifting requirement?

    You can't?

Seems to me that women should be allowed to try and meet the requirement - and if they fail, they fail.

I was never infantry, talk to folks who were in those units. Women do the job I did, and I have no defensible stance against it. Infantry is a different ballgame entirely.

The onus is on you to find information proving women are up to the task. If you want to challenge the status quo you have to provide the info.

So you believe that the onus is on me to prove why women should not be discriminated against solely on the basis of their gender?

    Noted.

According to Wikipedia, "Ripit" is the name of a DVD-ripping tool for the Macintosh. What ripits are you guys talking about?

This topic is been beatin to death, which is why this is the second thread. The argument you're using has been discussed and debated many times.

Yes, it's on you, to find proof to back your claims to change existing rules. If women were already in 11B slots, it'd be on US to substantiate our claims on why they should be pulled out of said slots. But that's not the case.

Do you think the Air Force should discriminate against prospective pilots solely on the basis of their bad eyesight? I do.

You're not going to get anywhere with your snarky attitude. We've discussed this at length 10 times over in this thread and the previous one. Find a specific point we've discussed and bring something new to the table. I'm not going to type out something you can easily find by doing a little searching through the thread. I'll give you a couple of hints though.

    ECONOMICS

    SEXUAL TENSION

    NON-DEPLOYABILITY

Like I already told you, yes. Repetitive much?

Noted, that you like to note things. Like it's important.

    :puke:

Sorry guys, I have a bad case of ad nauseam.

    Only two that matter.

How about you read through this thread and the first one to get your answer instead of bothering the hell out of the rest of us. Once you successfully read them, if you have something new and riveting, then by all means share it with us. If not, kindly ****.

Stupid, stupid argument. You can have (*)(*)(*)(*)ty vision up to -8.00 and can be waived if you had PRK or LASIK surgery. There are about 69,000 better arguments you could have chosen, but you picked the worst one. Try again.

Assuming that by the underlined you mean "accepted", are you saying that if after such corrective measures your eyesight remains bad, you can be accepted anyway? And if not, what is stupid about my argument?
I don't do that under prompting by others. ;)

If woman want to serve in combat they should be able to if they meet all requirements.

No, Marines are the only ones who like hot sauce. We're the best at liking spicy food.

The newer ones usually end up with the Air Force, at least, that was my experience. When we were training on an Air Force base in Guam, we kept getting all these new MREs. As soon as we went back to the Marine/Navy world, that ended.

Technically speaking, your fiance is in the vehicle commander's position, so he has a superior billet to you when you're going to Taco Bell.

FOB chow halls were awesome. I got really mad that I had to fill up two sandbags before going in, though. If I have to fill two, than every POG and fobbit should have to fill up ten.

Best chow-hall I ever went to was on an Air Force base. It was like real food.
