And you wonder why a lot of people around here see that stuff as trolling?

No, I don't wonder. That's what it looked liked when people posted some version of "Orange Man Bad" in every post....and some still do even after there has been a peaceful transfer of power to Bad Dementia Man. :)

There are no more or less excuses for Dementia Man Bad than there were for Orange Man Bad. We Americans must have a predilection for Bad Men. LOL

There's also nothing wrong with copying a dictionary definition, to assist the ignorant.

ERCOT was created by the independent utilities that first formed the Texas Integrated System in support of the war efforts during WWII, so once again your defense of your wrongness is wanting of an actual fact.

You still don't get it. The state government put them in charge. It doesn't matter if they did or didn't exist before.

Oh I get you just cannot get that you are wrong and have been wrong every statement you have made trying to assign blame where it doesn't belong.

It is rapid climate change with a significant human component. Rational people no longer dispute this.

I’m sure they do. It looks like they like money. I’ll take them seriously up to the point I’m provided evidence to the contrary.

Yeh, I look up my sources before using them. I’m not afraid of independent investigative journalism. The have much less reason to be dishonest than corporate media.

Under ERCOT, the Texas grid, which it manages, has collapsed four times in the last twenty five years.

This is a banana republic approach to management, and it is is producing banana republic results.

Call to modernize the Texas grid go back over a decade. T Boone Pickens described this scenario as a worst case do nothing result in 2008, and that’s what self regulation and agencies set up for the purpose of avoiding regulations produce.

You can post excerpts from climate denial blogs all day long.

That horse has left the barn. Renewables and batteries are the future, and are where the money is going.

There is so much evidence against the deniers claims now that they look ridiculous.

Post one. The evidence is as Abbot suggested. The limitation of production of the wind farms is demonstrated by the EIA data from the US Energy department. When the ice came, and then when the snow came, the production of both wind and solar dropped off, and the only additional capacity was from the NG infra. I posted the relevant charts from EIA earlier in the thread.

Yours is a typical partisan response.

State government is RESPONSIBLE for the entities they put in charge. In this case, Texas dropped the ball by not making sure the electrical grid could perform in sustained cold weather.

I hope for Texans' sake the lesson their pols learn isn't that ERCOT neatly satisfied a political goal of escaping responsibility when things go sideways. @Chrizton may as well be a publicist for Texas Republicans running for cover.

One party rule consequences ... California Democrats somehow manage to escape condemnation for power lines starting fires when other states, miracle of miracles (!!), don't have similar problems.
