The editorital you cite is inaccurate in many ways.

First, it deliberately omits the fact that Mitch McConnel had already publically announced that the GOP aim would be to thwart the Obama presidency, regardless of the national interest. It was also after radio blowhard Limbaugh said he hoped Obama fails.

Second, contrary to Thyssan's claim, the Obama presidency was hardly in decline, and he would wind up accomplishing much of his agenda, while the GOP lurched from one self inflicted wound to the next, culminating in losing control of their own presidential nominating process to a slick dishonest con man that no one trusts (except the knuckle draggers in talk radio looney land).

Cruz will regret it and he already knows that. All of Trump's relationships, business and otherwise, have ended badly..

I don't think Cruz is stupid so he's probably weighed the short term benefits to his capitulation.

Remember also that even the Democrats couldn't read the Obamacare Bill but voted for it anyway. This is another example of the mindless sheep they really are.

It'll be business as usual; the democrats will stall anything the republicans want; sort of like what the republicans did to Obama for over 7 1/2 years and nothing will get done as usual with the American people being the losers in the long run.

That makes no sense. The man is a multi-billionaire and his wife and children were the highlights of the Republican Convention.

I think Trump knows how Congress will respond- and I think he has some tricks up his sleeve, things that will use the power of a public opinion to force congress to accept a new standard of accountability- something they don't have at all now. That prospect would scare hell out of them, and could make them much more cooperative. I do know that a plan for such an action is in his hands, should he choose to use it.

If anything, one should expect Trump to do the unexpected, to take bold action when needed. That's what he does, that's why he is successful, that's why he is on the ballot.

Yes he uttered it in the context of winning that mid-term election and now those campaign workers should start working on winning the next. He then went on to state that he hoped they could find common ground and get needed legislation passed. There was never a "we will not work with Obama" declaration.

Since when did the left care about conflicts of interest. Ifbhe wins he can set up his private email system and sell access to those whobso business with Trump Inc. and his kids and what possible complaint would the left have a leg to stand on.

Well here you go starting off parroting Democrat myth. Tell me why you expected the Republicans in 2010 after just winning the House in the mid-term would have announced that now their next election cycle goal would be to reelect Obama. Can you show me where the Demkcrats announces they would work to make sure Bush would be a two term President?

And no McConnell did not say that but do provide the specific quote in its entirity where you are claiming he did.
