I remember the tranquil dignity of Laura Bush fondly and wistfully at times like this. Being in the White House today must be like being in a cattle corral... MOOOO!

Unoccupied, not un-owned. You can't just grow food on park land or someone else's land and right now most people don't have money to go homesteading.

BS. Plenty of cheap land around. People are just too lazy to grow their own food. Hell, some people are too lazy to cook their own food -- thus the explosion of prepared foods and take out!

Sad, but true. No matter how healthy we eat or how much we exercise or how close we are to our ideal body weight... it's no guarantee we'll live healthy lives. But most importantly... we're still gonna die someday.

Even Obamacare couldn't fix that for us.

Try doing that yourself and then tell me how easy that is.

That's like telling a sick person, no matter what meds you take, you are going to die one day anyway so why bother with the meds.

Yeah cuz nobody really wants to hear the truth, do they?

    You mean like in Britian?

Face it, Ron... giving the govt power to make decisions about our health is a huge mistake. Michelle Obama is just a little cog in that process.

I'm not for giving them any power. But if someone wants to talk about the advantages of healthy eating, I laud those efforts and hope that some kids and their parents will finally realize the error of their ways. While we are on Britain, look at the efforts of Jamie Oliver.

We're not talking about Romney since he's not the POTUS...

Once the government takes over the health care of the people - then they grab the power to control the food, telling people what they can and cannot eat.... you're a smart gal........ what does that tell you?

it tells me that your tinfoil hat is too tight... you need to get a bigger one so that it doesn't crush your last few remaining brain cells. THAT is what it tells me.

Given up my citizenship? OF course NOT. I just sent my absentee ballot request form to my former state of residence and look forward, as always, to participating in the political process.

Oprah probably would have liked Michelle way more than Obama if the Gayle rumors are true anyways.

Hard to tell... I see Oprah as more the male figure and Gayle the female. Which would account for O being closer to Barack than Michelle.

(Gawd, this gets confusing... I'm still trying to determine the original gender of Scout on another thread!)

And dont give me the 'safe where I am' quote, as violence is spreading unchecked all over the Gringo areas of Mex...hopefully, you will become one less Liberal to vote in 'OUR' national elections..

so... am I to understand you correctly? You actually are hoping that I am killed in Mexico? Have I got that right?

I serve my country for 25 years in uniform and you wish me DEAD? What kind of a bizarre prick ARE you?

Because YOU'RE to frightened to live in Mexico, we should all be wussies like YOU?

and it's interesting to hear someone NOT in Mexico telling someone who IS how things are here.

YOu don't know feces from fat meat.

Wow, you are a paranoid, typical bleeding-heart Liberal..was hoping that you permanently settle and become a part of the local culture----not being the usual wishy-washy liberal types that we see here in the states...make a commitment. For once in your life!

I have "permanently settled", but I will never give up my American citizenship and I will never stop caring about what happens in my country. Like I said... I think it is effing hilarious to listen to tough guys who DON'T live in Mexico and are too scared to come here tell folks like me who DO live here what it's like down here.

"For once in my life"??? wtf are you talking about? Do you not think that a quarter of a century in the Navy is a commitment?

get off your high horse, pal. really.

I'm sorry that you are riddled with guilt in making your decision...maybe you can get with Jessie Ventura down there and with a couple of margaritas, drink away your guilt...I have the Sonoran desert in Tucson, am paying taxes in my native country, and not taking advantage of the poor Mexican population like you...you shud be ashamed, Gringo!

LOL. Guilty? Hardly. It was the best decision I ever made. Why should I feel guilty about living a great life on the retirement pay that I get from a grateful nation? I, too, pay taxes in my native country... on every single penny I earn. And I will never have to start a snowblower again for the rest of my life!
