Is that what the man said when the man called the police? That someone is collecting butterflys?

 

I won't pretend to have any sympathy for folks who instinctually call the police whenever they don't quite fully understand what's going on ( go find out ur Fing self already)... but is it safe to say there's now a consensus that we're fully out of the 'if you see something, say something' era now? God I hope so...

IDK. I have a neighbor who is constantly calling the police or the city government complaining about anything he can. He is a very nosy sort. He is lucky that nobody is as troublesome to him as he is to others though. I guess part of it is that he is retired and bored and needs some kind of manufactured drama to fill the voids in his life.

 

No it doesn’t narrow it down nearly as much as you claim, nor is there any indication racism played a role.

He literally said in the OP's article, "There's a little Black woman walking, spraying stuff on the sidewalks and trees on Elizabeth and Florence," And he further said, "He's scared." But collecting butterflies would involve a spray bottle, a butterfly net, and some jars or a large jar in a backpack.

 

People are not very observant these days. Although see something and say something is fine, but some people use that to the extreme such as the holding of a Black FedEx Driver in a FedEx truck or the Aubrey shooting or the black person walking a dog in the middle of Central Park, and a whole bunch of others. Some have even been charged with filing a false police report. Won't happen with the city councilmember, but it should serve as a warning though. Be more observant and stop drawing conclusions.

 

I think in your attempt to demonize this man...you are not staying to the facts. Read the story the op linked.

 

I gave the exact quote of what the man said to the police dispatcher, per the OP article. Nothing more, nothing less.

His attorney, a day or two later, "clarified" or attempted to clarify" what he said. If I think a girl is lost or an old lady has dementia and is lost, the words "she scares me" will not come to mind. And I would have stated implicitly that the person is either lost or I think they had dementia in that case.

 

It is more like you are trying to excuse the ashole behabvior of that man.

This incident is stupid enough without fabrications of statements made.
