As you are obviously doing mods yourself and experimenting, let me add a recommendation. AR triggers are mostly pretty poor, and are perhaps the easiest good upgrade you can do. I've been through quite a few- most cost more than they are worth. Except- one. A while back, I discovered a company in Texas that makes the smoothest, most predictable two-stage trigger I've ever seen for an AR. Company is LaRue, trigger is called the MBT Means Meticulously Built Trigger. The good part is the price; $80. I tried one, now have four. Super smooth pull, then a very clear point of resistance, and you are a hair's pull away from fire. They make it in single and two stage, I use the two. Don't think they make an AK trigger however, but if you have an AR too, this is a jewel.

The gas impingement AR was not designed with a lot of surplus energy with respect to cycling the action. I have seen people shoot these belt fed ARs and they were "jamomatics".
