Given Obama's three year record in improving our economy, we must now ask ourselves, "How on earth was this man ever elected as our Commander in Chief?"

How did he deceive the American electorate so thoroughly and so easily?

The evidence is in and we now know if it had not been for the Bush tax cuts, the policies that have been enacted by Obama would have made the state of our economy much worse that it is now. When you factor in the fact millions of Americans who have given up and have quit looking for work, Obama's national unemployment rate today is very close to 11-12 percent! Under his lacklusted stimulus policies, the housing sector has not even begun to recover. Millions and millions of American homeowners are underwater in their home mortgages.

The following article provides some very good answers to this intriguing question, “How did Barack Obama deceive the American electorate so thoroughly and so easily?

"Obama, in contrast, seemed like a breath of fresh air. He was only 47 years old, personable, articulate and the first African-American to be a candidate for a major-party nomination with a serious chance of winning. His biggest opposition was Sen. Hillary Clinton, the first woman candidate with a serious chance of winning. But she was already well known to the American people, having been First Lady for eight years, and necessarily carried a lot of baggage from her husband’s administration.

Obama, in contrast, was a blank slate. He had only served a few years in the Illinois State Senate, where his record was thin (he voted “present” a number of times rather than take a stand on an issue), and less than a single term in the U.S. Senate, where his record was even thinner. This allowed people to project on to Obama what they wanted to see, an immense advantage in politics."

What do you want, a recount?

McCain lost. America, according to the 2008 election, voted for Obama. If you don't like that, vote for Gingrich or Romney in November. Chances are, America will vote for Obama again.

You will probably be very depressed, but on the bright side, you will have plenty to complain about and have fodder to explain all your ills.

Obama was just a way for some people to prove they were not racists. For many of his supporters, it really doesn't matter what he does as President. They'll vote for him, regardless.

I thought we had already established that you don't quite know what a "Fact" is James?

You don't need to keep proving it to us over and over.

So you are for the Patriot Act? Most of the liberals in this very forum condemned Bush for the Act. How many times has Obama extended it? Those very same liberals who condemned Bush were silent each time Obama signed off on it. Are you one of those hypocrites?

So you are for indefinite detention of American citizens without due process? Shouldn't you liberals be screaming from the roof tops over that one?

How about when the Obama administration wanted to be able to access emails without search warrants? That looked like an attempt to actually expand the evil patriot act to me.

Were you against the patriot act before you were for it?

Did you vote for the guy because he promised not to use signing statements? How many has he used them already? 20?

Did you vote for him because he promised you that he would keep special interests at arm's length? A lot of your fellow liberals certainly did. From companies being deemed to big to fail that just happened to contribute large sums of money to his election campaign to Solyndra, it is clear he lied about that too.

Didn't he promise to close gitmo within one year of being elected, but with a supermajority in the senate and control of the house, he didn't do it. That of course was because he was busy pushing through his real agenda, not the one he made up in order to get votes from the dimwitted.

Did you vote for him because he promised to go through spending bills line-by-line to cut out wasteful earmarks? How many were in the 2009 recovery and reinvestment act? 9,000+? And of course, he didn't even bother reading it which flies in the face of the line-by-line promise. No surprise there.

As a candidate didn't Obama state that the Constitution does not give the president the authority to unilaterally authorize a military attack unless it is needed to stop an actual or imminent attack on the United States? Isn't that precisely what he did in Libya?

I'm guessing that you are actually completely ignorant of most of what I have pointed out here, but it is all factual and well documented. You seem like one of the typical liberal lemmings we have so many of on these forums where you form your opinions based on Huffington Post headlines, because it is so much easier for you than actually following current events, evaluating them and then forming an opinion based on that evaluation.

James, you don't speak for me. Obama is exactly the person I voted for...and there are many people, the majority, who agree with me. that's how Obama got elected? Get it???

Really? When you gleefully pulled the lever for Obama, you were hoping he would keep Gitmo open, extend the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, get us involved in another war effort, increase the deficit by 60% (despite promising to cut it in half), enact a bigger, stronger version of the Patriot Act, increase the unemployment rate, and give billions to CEOs of companies who would go belly up within a year?

Glad he was able to live up to your sterling liberal standards.

Admit it, you voted for him because you really wanted to see a black President, and he gave thrills up your leg.

All in all, I agree with all the decisions that Obama made. I have no problems or qualifications with them at all.

You know, like you ijits did with Bush.

No, I voted for Obama because he has the intelligence that is lacking in the entire GOP.

I don't vote for stupid people.
