The seems to be universally true. Mostly it's the hypocrisy thing. And the meddling for no rational purpose.

Actually I am American and I agree with this post. We got serious issues over here that need to be solved.

Why do you post so many I-hate-America threads, Awryly?
I'm beginning to wonder if there are arrest warrants out for you here or something.

I agree that Canada is awesome. I love Windsor. I used to go there every weekend when I lived in Toledo, Ohio. The place was so clean and low crime. Even Detroit looked nice from across the river.

The tragedy for them is that it will haunt them for more than decades and their National psyche is already hugely damaged .
All the worse , because it is clear and obvious , yet few of them are capable of even grasping it .

That list is fine for Readers Digest .imo .
One of the things it means is , that these are the ten countries that basically keep themselves to themselves .
Not so much respected , but more of " What exactly ever happens there of any great import ? " .
And some like Austria and Switzerland are built on true evil if you knew their full roles in the '39-45 War

Built on true evil? You mean like genocide and slavery?

Can anyone name a country that is not guilty of hypocrisy and at least one of the items in the original post plus a ton of others not listed?

I am not saying that the USA isn't guilty of a ton of shameful things, or that we don't f-up regularly and on a huge scale. We are undeniably arrogant, hypocritical from our foundation, and a bully. I just think that everyone else is kidding themselves if they think their governments are so much better especially if they were to put on our shoes in the world's stage.

Obama promised he would regain the world's respect. He obviously failed.

Do you anti-Americans realize your words can be used as ammunition by the American right against the American left? Probably not.

It's also hard to take a country like New Zealand seriously when they...

...steal and confiscate Maori lands. Both historically and presently...see the Foreshore and Seabed controversy, etc. for a more modern flavor.

...have a higher overall crime rate than the United States. New Zealand has 4.4 million people with 427,230 reported crimes in 2006...a 9% overall crime rate. The US has 313 million people with 11.87 million reported crimes...a 3% overall crime rate for the same reporting period.

...pander to rich foreigners to invest in their market.

...have unemployment rates that fluctuate around 7-10% with unemployment rates for eligible youth being around 17%.

...created second-class citizens of indigenous populations and Asians.

...believe they have freedom, when in fact they are still essentially under a Monarchy and have a non-codified Constitution...ie. Britian still has the power. The United States figured out this was a bum deal well over 200 years ago.

...have virtually nothing to offer the world agriculturally.

Need I go on? Lets face it the United States has problems, and I think we realize that and try to tackle those problems, but you're approaching this like New Zealand is gods gift to the world when you have problems on par or far over what the US has.

LOL...no doubt MSN Canada would list themselves as the most respected country in the world. You just have to love that the following statement is what was asked of survey respondents:

"Survey respondents were asked to measure a nation's environment by considering how beautiful and enjoyable the country is, whether or not it offers a pleasant lifestyle and whether or not the people are friendly and welcoming."

Basically, it's akin to a beauty contest, and notice how there are no Asian countries listed. The list might actually mean something if it weren't so laughably convoluted.

I am constantly amazed at the ignorance of Americans and this post elevates that perception to incredulity.

You are also clearly a very bad Googler.

Here's just one example of stuff you obviously do not understand.

    You....

    The facts...

The US rate, by contrast, has only recently dropped from over 10%.

Correction - only scum shoot each other and it's good for population control.

At least we have the right to protect ourselves by any means necessary. It's called freedom. Look into it next time you want to make herbal tea, New Kneelander.

By the way, if New Zealand was worth it, you would have already been raped by the greedy corporatists who own your boy Obama.

I never understand that with the usa, their whole concept of 'freedom' revolves around owning a gun. And what happens if they lose their gun. Are they not free anymore. Are they banished.

It actually revolves around a lot more which is being thrown out the window by the progressive totalitarians who own both parties. His topic included people shooting each other. An individual should have a right to protect themselves by any means necessary. Sorry that's so lost on the statist world who look to nanny to show up in an hour to wipe their blood off the floor of their own house.

Sure if they are living in a ghetto, but if the area is that bad. Buy a better property in a better area.

Oh they are here, never you fret. But many of them are currently passing through our court system on fraud charges. And filling up our jails.

That's quite an elitist statement. Almost as bad as me cheering the scum shooting each other. ;)

If people are stuck in fear and fear being robbed, raped or terrorized or whatever it is. thery proberbly need a gun. Although logically they could just move.
