Good luck with that. But, one must ask, what aggression has China ever shown? It is a peaceable nation which is taking over by pacific means. But one must not ever under-estimate the talent of the Yanks to escalate peaceful intentions into declarations of war.
Well it, along with Russia, opposes intervention in Syria which is enough to put its allegiance into question. The United States is prepared to fight against any superpower that threatens it just as any other country is and should be. Just because you are prepared for conflict doesn't mean you actively seek it. I mean I don't agree that a war should happen... I'm just playing devil's advocate.
The reality is that the 21st century will be dominated by China, unless the west decides to destroy the village to "save" the village. The era of European/US enlightenment may well be coming to an end. We can only hope that they adopt the best values of the enlightenment in terms of human rights and freedom of choice and blend them into their own best values. Unfortunately, history has shown that the most powerful end up becoming corrupt, and then things go downhill from there.
China is a communist country, that alone poses a threat because it is ruled by a small elite group that does not mind putting the lives of its people at risk for their own purposes.
I would rather not make enemies of the entire eastern hemisphere thank you very much. Can you imagine what would happen if we had a war with the China? Russia and China and all of their communist allies would basically invade Europe from the east and Syria and Iran would invade Europe from the South in order to take out America's allies. European citizens would basically clog up their ports evacuating to Canada and the world would become completely divided and plunged into perpetual war. And that's only if they don't just decide to nuke us first... or us them...
China poses virtually no military threat to the US at present and it will probably stay that way for a long while. There is no reason for either side to fight anyway. Our economies are very interdependent.
China is ruled by a small elite just as the US is ruled by a small elite. And the US puts the lives of its people at risk far more than China does. In fact, it gets them routinely killed in and out of battle.
China is currently of no military threat to the United States, and probably will never constitute such a threat. While military might could build upon their current leverage, they prefer highly pragmatic, non-interventionist soft power.
How does that make them communist? "Communist" China's elite are better capitalists than America's elite.
Their biggest advantage is that they are racially and culturally homogenous. Multiculturalism and forced diversity are virtually non-existent in China. That will be a huge advantage for them going forward, while we are still bungling around trying to make everyone feel good about everyone else, no matter how illogical the reasoning.
Three words come to mind: Mutually Assured Destruction. It worked with the USSR it will work with China.
When President Obama called on the US military to shift its focus to Asia earlier this year, Andrew Marshall, a 91-year-old futurist, had a vision of what to do. Marshall's small office in the Pentagon has spent the past two decades planning for a war against an angry, aggressive and heavily armed China. You probable don't know this, but we have people who do nothing but sit around and make plans of what to do if we ever get in another war with countries we're not all that friendly with. That doesn't mean we're planing a war any time soon with any of them. It's just that plans must be in place in case it happens. Shifting our focus to the Far East makes sense, as we have a new Leader in N.Korea and China is an emerging super power that's begining to spread her wings and we do have a defence treaty with Formosa. It doesn't surprise me that you would try to turn anything we do as trying to promote a war. Although if one starts over there, we'll probably use that dirt bag island your living on as target practice for our ships in preperation to use it on China or N.Korea.Can't go in there unprepared you know. What better place to get target practice in.
Have not heard of China v US. Is that case scheduled for Supreme Court? If it is about the rent due, may US offer instead NASA? Take it, see what China can do with it. Maybe build a Chinese city on the Moon. Newt Gingrich comes with the deal, as a freebie.
Tibet was part of the Chinese empire back in the 13th century. Can't remember when Iraq was part of the American empire.
