Carter Found Shot In The Head While In Police Car

"Baggett’s report states that Marsh ran Carter’s name and discovered that he had an open warrant, from Desoto County, Mississppi. The officer says that he also found a set of scales under the passenger seat of the truck, where Carter had been sitting. He stated that he opened the scales and smelled a “strong odor of marijuana.” Baggett wrote that he and Marsh placed the driver and Teal into handcuffs, after the men denied knowing anything about the scales. Both were placed into the back of Baggett’s patrol car.

Baggett says he continued his search of the truck and found a plastic bag containing a “white, powdery, granular substance” — also behind the seat near the passenger side. The baggie was tied into a knot, Baggett wrote."




"He said that he and Marsh returned to Marsh’s patrol car, where they found Carter “in a sitting position … slumped forward with his head in his lap.” Baggett’s report said there was “a large amount of blood on the front of his shirt, pants, seat and floor.” Baggett states that Carter’s hands were still cuffed behind his back and that he was still breathing. The officer said he radioed for EMS and for a supervisor.

Baggett stated that Marsh attempted to remove the handcuffs from Carter but was unable to because of the position of Carter’s body. Baggett’s report says Marsh found a small caliber handgun, “secured it,” then placed it on the trunk of Marsh’s patrol car.

An ambulance arrived, which transported Carter to nearby St. Bernard’s hospital. Two officers, a Lt. Coleman and a Det. Branscum, arrived to process the scene."

Apparently he was double cuffed when this happened. So confusing!

here is some more info, this thing is getting more confusing by the minute

either a State agency and or the FBI needs to be involved in this one

So...found drugs on one of them, and a mysterious white powder in the truck. Found out that one of them had warrants. Cuffed the one with warrants and let the other two go. Mean while...the guy in cuffs produces a gun and shoots himself in the temple...while his hands are cuffed behind his back?

I find it highly doubtful he could put a gun to his temple while in cuffs. The human skeletal structure doesn't bend that way. This needs to be investigated to the fullest.

 

I'm sure that is probably the case in 100s of small towns across America where integrity still means something. That's not the case everywhere.

MANY people can, if cuffed in back, slip their hands in front quickly. My wife can jump, tuck her knees to her chest, and can then slip her hands beneath her feet. After that...the cuffs are off in about ten seconds.

 

Easy enough to get around: wear a disposable glove while shooting, and toss it. Alternately, wrap the gun with an old towel.

 

What are the usual suspects trying to get us to believe? That the cop planned the perfect crime of handcuffing a black guy with a warrant, placing him in the back of his police car, and then murdering him? Yeah, that makes sense.

And anyway, are YOU trying to get US to believe that it's totally normal for a cuffed, unarmed, left-handed man to get himself uncuffed, shoot himself in the right temple with a gun he materialized out of thin air, and then put the cuffs BACK on before dying?

That's a little hard to do in the back of a police car...and nearly impossible to get your hands back behind you after blowing your brain out.

But give your wife a high five for me, that's a pretty impressive feat.

Baggett said only the driver produced identification."

I never said it's normal, but suspects do commit suicide during arrest and in jail.

Now, try this (and understand that people have different sizes, shapes, and flexibility)- while seated, put your hands behind your back separated by about four inches. Now, with your right hand, touch the small of your back where a gun could be. Now, imagine the gun in your right hand. Now, bring your right hand around as far as you can, while you bend your head down into your lap. You should see that a person could have shot himself in this manner. The officers report said that his head was in his lap.

While I would agree the circumstances as currently known sound incredibly curious and unusual to the explanation given....I have to also say it IS theoretically possible to shoot yourself while handcuffed.

But for such a feat to have happened would require that the bullet ricochet off of something inside the police car...and nothing released so far seems to support that scenario.

 

Might take her two or three seconds in the back of a car (lay on the seat, tuck knees, slip hands in front), but not any harder. It's much easier for a woman than a man. Amazing what skills someone can pick up working a summer as a stage magician's assistant! (He also taught her to open handcuffs with a hairpin, and how to slip cuffs without unlocking them.)

Dude, he was found with his hands behind his back, dead. Do you get it yet? Can your wife shoot herself in the head and than still have the physical capacity to put her handcuffed hands back behind her back? If she can, I would like to see it.

It is possible to shoot yourself in the head with hands handcuffed behind your back while sitting down. The bigger questions are how the police missed the gun in two different searches and what is on the autopsy report. A person shooting themselves in that situation would lend itself to certain bullet trajectories.
