Great idea Obama. Lets keep releasing them so they can kill more Ambassadors. The police of this president are so (*)(*)(*)(*) poor that its almost unreal.

Hopefully he'll find a place for the rest of them too. There is no reason we can't keep them on American soil and subjugate the prison to American laws.

They are ENEMY COMBATANTS, not civil/criminal defendants.

You can call them anything you want it doesnt justify holding them with no determination of guilt indefinetly while torturing them just in case they might know of some magical suitcase nuke.

How does that change anything? I did not see anywhere in the constitution that the right to trial does not apply to enemy combatants.

Even the Bush administration admitted the majority held at Gitmo were innocent storekeepers, cab drivers, and sheepherders turned in for the cash rewards or turned in by business or family rivals

Detainees in Gitmo are not my enemies. American leftists are the only real enemy.

Why doesn't the Kenyan release the detainees if what you say is true?

Then they should be held under the Geneva Convention on American soil

But if one were Libyan - when was America at war with Libya (although you have been at war with virtually everyone on the planet at some point so I might have missed this one)

Enemy combatant my ass. Who says? The lying bastards in charge of our government? The eat their cereal with lies in the morning. They flavor their coffee with them.

Maybe if they had a TRIAL we would know if they were really guilty or not...

Try them, and if they are enemy combatants then walk them into the ocean, but don't (*)(*)(*)(*)ing detain them indefinitely.

What a great idea. Lets take them back to the middle east and drop them off in the middle of the straights of Hormuose (sp) and point in the direct of the shore. think of the money it would save us.

Oh, better yet, why don't we just let more of these murdering bastards go free so they can attack other "American targets of opportunity", like THIS Islamo-nazi did after they let him go from Gitmo:

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...icial-says-strike-in-libya-was-terror-attack/

We should have conducted military tribunals for every one of these "suspects" and meted out justice for them YEARS ago....

"These men have been cleared for release for at least three years (longer in many cases), and yet they have been held at Guantanamo now for eleven years and counting. It's unconscionable that so few of these cleared men have been released by this administration over the last three years," said Shane Kadidal of the Center for Constitutional Rights. "The list is clearly incomplete, and based on the total numbers seems to not include the Yemenis cleared for conditional release. Moreover, the government notes in its brief that for a number of cleared men it still needs to seek formal court approval to release their names. That should not be a problem but will take time, and people reading the list should know that some cleared men are not listed only because of this legal technicality."

“Today’s release is a partial victory for transparency, and it should also be a spur to action,” said Zachary Katznelson of the American Civil Liberties Union. “These men have now spent three years in prison since our military and intelligence agencies all agreed they should be released. Not on the list, of course, is Adnan Latif, who died in his cell earlier this month despite having been repeatedly approved for release from Guantánamo. It is well past time to release and resettle these unfairly imprisoned men.”

    The "Kenyan"???

There are NO "Kenyans" with authority to release Gitmo prisoners.

However, Obama is releasing prisoners, despite the hysterical spoutings of frothing Righties, which is why this thread EXISTS!

this is a great chance for Romney to further alienate Ron Paul supporters, folks who believe smaller govt includes not allowing indefinite detention

    What amazing gall!
Romney isn't the guy that signed the NDAA into law...and then immediately apologized for it and backed away from it. http://www.sodahead.com/united-stat...etained-without-due-process/question-3191585/
Amidst the measures outlined in the NDAA, President Obama
issued a statement saying "I have signed this bill despite having serious reservations with certain provisions that regulate the detention, interrogation, and prosecution of suspected terrorists.”
Then why sign it into law, president Sugar Daddy? The perfect hypocrite president for a hypocritical political party.

I know. But I take perverse pleasure in irritating leftists.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is at Gitmo. So is Ramzi bin al Shibh. What should happen to those guys? Obama is keeping them there despite promising to close Gitmo. And after terminating all military tribunals Obama has reactivated Bush's military tribunals.

Personally I don't care what happens to these guys. I'm focused on the real enemy who wants to transform me out of existence.
