But if a spy of ours can report some dangerous people practicing right here in the country, how are they NOT enemies of the state? Not sure what me not holding the premise that some form of supernatural God exists to be true has to do with communism.

Becasue the house churches are not registered with the government in China. Believe it or not, there are Christian churches as well as Buddhist, Tsaoist, and Confucist churches in China that have no problem with the Chinese government. But what scalres most Chinese, because of its history, are those who meet secretely in their home for a reason not easily understood by most Chinese.

 

Their can only be on god (the state) and one church (the party). If you don't believe us, we'll kill or imprison you for the greater good.

Or, is it possible that maybe, just maybe, the OP and my examples have to do with suppressing speech and organization in general as well as ensuring there are no potential threats to the ruling party and class, and not really anything to do with atheism, considering that religious groups tend to be closeknit and united, especially when they are the minority.

Definitely not saying it's right, but the continued comparison-by-brute-force of atheism and communism reeks of desperation.

Not true. When I lost Jesus, and traded in my "I found it." bumper sticker for a Darwin-fish decal, it bordered on a mirculous transition. In fact, it was instantaneous. Suddenly I'm not only realizing that God was made up, I'm thinking at the very same time that that Joe Stalin fella was actually a pretty good guy and that a government takeover of industry and retail, not to mention drab and matching outfits, is the cat's friggin' pajamas. And not only that, red is starting to really apeal to me, which is odd since only seconds earlier when praying, "Goodbye dear Lord ..." blue was my favorite color.
