Hopeless is someone who relies on a 'god'. Hopeful is someone who creates their own destiny, and doesn't need to pray for anything.

I don't think so, Talon. I've lived in your country and studied in American institutions. There is good to say about Americans, but every nation has its negative side. Yes, Americans are friendly and charitable, but this doesn't hide the fact that (in general) happiness in America is defined by how much someone has. Your society lives to work, just so they can get that big house in the suburbs and what not.

I don't have a problem with individualism. But your definition of it, or what it meant in the past, is not the reality. Perhaps individualism in America has simply gone to the extreme.

No, the arrogant person is someone who thinks they got it all planned out. Ah, but when the (*)(*)(*)(*) hits the fan, their hands go straight up into the air.

What's wrong with working hard to be able to aford nice things and enjoy life?

This is basically FOLLOWING THE RULES OF NATURE!!

A Family of Squirrels works hard all summer and fall to store acorns and nuts and builds themselves a good nest to be able to survive the harsh winters in most of the United States and live comfortably.

Same thing with an Ant Colony or Bee Hive.

I have been all over the Middle East and although it's usually hot and there are dust storms in deserts...we have deserts in the U.S. as well but people from the Middle East have a very difficult time getting used to the Cold Winters in the U.S.

Just before Desert Storm a large number of Kuwaiti's came to the U.S. as they recieved Military Training as they wanted to come back to Kuwait and be the FIRST SOLDIER'S BACK IN...and they were as we allowed this...so they could help U.S. and U.N. Forces expel Iraqi Forces from their Nation.

There are News Video's showing Kuwaiti Soldiers being trained at U.S. Bases on the East Coast such as those bases in New Jersey and this was during the winter as even though the Kuwaiti's were wearing U.S. Military Winter Uniforms they could barely function as they were shivering to death as their bodies could not cope with the Cold that every North American has learned to deal with.

As well I have seen members of Russia's Military back in the late 1990's who came to the U.S. in the Summer who were having a hard time DEALING WITH THE HEAT as we have extremely cold winters and extremely hot Summers.

The HIGHEST TEMPS. AND HOTTEST PLACE ON EARTH are in DEATH VALLEY CALIFORNIA.

My point is that American's are cut from a different kind of cloth as we have since our Colonial Times been a very hardy people.

We consider HARD WORK AND THE REWARDS THAT COME FROM IT as being part of the AMERICAN DREAM!

I am reminded of Sam Kinison, but actually, the places in the Mid-East where people live, are beautiful.

    WERE beautiful.

    LEBANON....was beautiful.

Now it's a pile of dust and collapsed cement!!

But they absolutely cannot handle the COLD.

Back in August of 1990 Fort Dix began around-the-clock operations deploying troops for Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. In January 1991, Fort Dix was chosen to train selected Kuwaiti civilians in basic military skills. After a brief course, they boarded planes to take part in the liberation of their country.

While they were there during the winter of 1990/1991.....they were SHOCKED by the cold. Their bodies could not handle it and they would shake in a violent shiver the entire time.

I had never seen anything like it.

Since overthrowing the US-imposed shah, Iran has moved to a quasi-democracy.

If you want to look at a brutal, stone-age Wahhabi theocracy, look at the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Maybe the US consider helping it's ally Saudi Arabia get it's act together before messing with Iran again.

The United States and Canada once fully Energy Self Sufficient are not going to be kissing the A$$E$ of any Middle Eastern Nation with Oil anymore.

Europe had better get ready to start defending their Oil supply because although we will still be there in force for some time to come....we won't need them anymore.

Which mean's we won't need to be paying out Billions in Aid to everyone who has an Oil Rig.

U.S. Military Power will increase in Capability due to the advent of Direct Energy weapons while we can lower defense spending.

The Nation we really need to get things straightened away with is Russia because now that Russia is in an Economic Depression.....they will become more unstable.

Nothing. It only becomes wrong when this is your sole or most important source of happiness.

Why else are Americans so depressed?

American's are probably the least depressed people I have even seen! LOL!!!

Where are you coming up with this??

Do you know where the highest rates of suicides are from...if you take Islamic Suicide Bombers out of the mix?

    SCANDINAVIA!!!

It has to do with not seeing the sun for long periods of time.

I am an expert in Survival and that includes Arctic Survival and I understand why this is so.

I like this poll. Usually people ask if the US can trust Iran. The country is under constant threat of an invasion I suppose, and the growth of ballistic missile hosting countries in the Middle East is increasing tensions rapidly.

This is why you should care.

If Iran announced publicaly it has developed Nuclear Weapons Israel will immediately want to bomb all Iranian Nuclear Sites which would result in the complete Poisoning of the Middle East and Perhaps Europe and parts of Asia with Radioactive Dust.

The United States will not allow this to happen thus the U.S. Military will Invade Iran and seize all Nuclear Sites.

The Former Yugoslavia is an area where such Radiation could reach unless the U.S. Military seizes these Iranian sites...which we would...IF....Iran goes public.

Why wouldn't Iran be able to trust America? One can always trust those that one can outsmart and deceive....

Man does this Guy have to GO!!!

He is still living in a Stone Age Mentality.

Young Women in Iran were some of the first to be beaten without mercy for coming out and Protesting for Democracy a few years ago.

This man is the kind of guy who get's off seeing a woman beaten.

Ask Jimmy Carter. He's the one that created the current Iran situation.

This is just the West projecting its own history on the East. They don't want to be the only ones responsible for a maniacal dictatorship who gassed millions of Jews.

Theocracy, not a quasi-democracy. Iranian democracy is a Potemkin Village.

They're just being true to their religion! They're being obedient to their version of "god". To understand Islam, it is only fair to read what is right there in their "holy book", the Quran: http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/quran/023-violence.htm ... To understand Islam, don't trust what I say, or what any other poster here says --- READ THEIR "HOLY BOOK"!

Now, imagine people with the mindset of a "true believer" in Islam, practicing exactly what they are taught with no corrupting secularism, in possession of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles! THAT is what Obama and Kerry are giving the civilized world as their legacy. And the really perverse thing is that these hyperliberal, "one-worlder" idiots will cheer them with tears of gratitude in their eyes....

Iran has an elected parliament and is probably no more a theocracy than Israel, and is positively a humanitarian paradise compared to US allies Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

    Why the double standard?
