    It wasn’t so much a choice as it was a demand.

    Chaplain David Wells was told he could either sign a state-mandated document promising to never tell inmates that homosexuality is “sinful” or else the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice would revoke his credentials.

    For 13 years this Chaplain has been invited to spread the word of God and to take time to sit with troubled youth and counsel them. As a Christian, it is no doubt that this Chaplain has done this with a glad heart as he had the opportunity to help people turn their lives around and become better people. Christians and good conservatives spend a lot of time doing volunteer work like this to help others.

    Now, with the current environment of trying to equate a chosen sex life with race, the assault has begun on Christianity and what the Bible says about gay sex. Why must the Chaplain be asked to agree to not discuss that gay sex is a sin when the Bible clearly states so? Why not let prisoners who choose gay sex simply avoid the Chaplain while others who know that gay sex is a sin and wrong, can sit and speak with him? Why must a good man of the cloth be banned because he preaches the Gospel?

    What message is desired, that government is your salvation?

    should they be allowed to teach that its a sin to reject Jesus?

    to be a Muslim or a Jew?

    The issue is being supported in special access and support by this guy and group.

    He is quite welcome to "counsel" with his hate and evil privately and individually.

    But he has no right to his previous special access.

    it's voluntary to sit with him. Why do you wish to deny ALL the youth in this detention center the access to the Chaplain? Is it any surpise to anyone what the Bible says about gay sex? Why is it now taboo to let preachers teach the word of God?

    I've listened to how some of those radical religionists preach their version of "sin" and it can get pretty darned ugly. From the way the OP reads, what it sound like is you have a whole lot of condemnation and about zip counseling.

    Gee, I thought I was on ignore..........................

    This is about a volunteer clergy who makes himself available to those who wish to speak with him. I'm sure that if a devil worshiper wanted to make him/herself available that they would be allowed as well. The message here is that it's OK if you want to volunteer to bring your religion to those who wish to hear as long as it's not Christianity

    ugly is in the eye of the beholder. What is going on here is that the state has now deemed that the word of God is unwelcome unless you are willing to preach the state's version, and not that from the Bible.

    If I'm not mistaken, the Pilgrims left England because they were not allowed to practice their faith. The founding fathers made it clear that one must be free to practice their faith. Now we have a state which feels that Christianity is harmful.

    The homosexual activists had best understand that it was God loving people who founded this nation and made possible for them to have the freedom to practice their religion of gay-sex. Homosexuals might be the useful idiots of liberals right now but they can quickly fall from favor and find themselves persecuted right along side the Christians

    Considering its now deemed exactly the same thing if your penis happens to find its way into a mans bum or a womens vagina, and with the whole gender equality push, why do we have gender based prisons still?

    So if a Muslim, Atheist, Scientologist, Wiccan, etc., came in to preach to anyone who wanted to listen you'd be fine with that. Good. How open minded of you.

    ABSOLUTELY; if they wish to volunteer and there is a person who wants to sit with them, then Godspeed

    We have free will and that includes free will to accept God, free will to choose gay or straight sex etc etc

    Christianity (in any meaningful sense), as far as the left is concerned, cannot be tolerated. To them, in many ways, it represents anti-liberal 'we make our standards on fly" sort of thing. Hating Christianity is fine (required) with them, but they love pandering to people who burn down private property, butt slam each other, lie, who slander others who disagree with them and who make crappy movies. It's astonishing these folks, the ones who are suffering because of these no-values preachers, haven't figured out they're being played by their preachers, but they haven't.

    1. Just because someone is in prison, that does not mean that they are not religious. Many inmates believe in some "God" and request to speak to a priest of their beliefs.

    2. Nobody forces these inmates to speak to this or any other priest.

    3. If the inmates do not like what he preaches, they can request another priest.

    4. This is not a State vs Church matter as the priest is not on the Government payroll, he is a volunteer. He is there to help mend the souls he feels are broken or those that feel that theirs is broken.

    5. It is completely wrong for the prison to dictate what the priest preaches. Should they revoke his permit, he should sue for civil rights violations.

    So you are supportive of a radical Muslim "volunteering" his time to "volunteer" inmates wishing to speak with him and sit down with him discussing that infidels must be killed then correct? I mean this is about freedom of religion after all right? I mean, you aren't just biased towards Christianity and Judaism being taught to inmates right?

    See my above quote, then you are supportive of Radical Muslims volunteering their time to inmates right? I mean the radical muslim wouldn't be forcing the inmates to sit and listen it would all be volunteer.

    So basically this preacher is pissed that he can't incite prisoners to violence against gay inmates and that he has lost his 2,000 year old
    tradition of bashing homosexuals.

    It's like the bully kid on the block who tortures the neighbor's dog for years and then goes running home to mommy complaining about the mean old dog when it finally nips back.

    Pathetic.
