In your opinion, how many Muslims want America destroyed?

Please show us where in the Qur'an it says to NOT take Allah at his word, to NOT take it as written, to NOT believe that it says what is means and means what it says. After all, it's authored, basically, by the alleged greatest entity of all time, all-knowing, all-seeing. Why would wild "interpretations" be needed? When Allah says to cut off hands/feet, why not just believe him - as a Muslim?

Just because it's inconvenient/illegal/immoral does not mean that that's not what the author intended.

Yes, and a weakening of religion is one of the 7 signs sociologists describe before a society falls down:

    Sir John Glubb
The seven stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be:

    1) The Age of Pioneers (outburst)
    2) The Age of Conquests
    3) The Age of Commerce
    4) The Age of Affluence
    5) The Age of Intellect
    6) The Age of Decadence.
    7) The Age of Revolts or invasion.

Decadence is marked by: I] Defensiveness, II] Pessimism, III] Materialism, IV] Frivolity, V] An influx of foreigners, VI] The Welfare State, VII] a weakening of religion.

    Nope, don't think so.
Can we both agree that being victorious through LOVE would have been better than through TERROR? Seems reasonable. But how about you?

    - - - Updated - - -

In the case of ISIS today, it would seem that the STRENGTHENING of religion would be a sign of that society falling down.

    - - - Updated - - -

Yes, I would, if I was utterly obsessed with sex like someone I know who shall remain nameless.

It proves my point! Well, at least it gives my point some more ammunition, but still.

Why haven't the MSH crowd link arms with the Marxist United Nations leaders and go into ISIS territory and change their hearts and minds?

Perhaps MSH isn't going to change the evil Muslims who have been doing their thing for 1,400 years.

I'll pass on your role models.

We'll take that as a "I prefer terror - Mohammad's way, over the Modern Secular Humanist way (love)".
Keep in mind that more terrorist groups today have MOHAMMAD as their role model, and not Richard Dawkins, or Ayaan, or Sam Harris, or Dan Dennett, etc. By a WIDE margin.
Here's a list of Mohammad-inspired terror attacks (it's a full time job for that web site, I bet!): http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/

Good luck casting love into the hearts of Baghdadi and all the other maniacs trying to kill you.

I believe in the power of science, intellect and reason, so I believe MSH will get the job done, at least in the long term.

Ayaan, one of my role models, is of course more moral than Jesus/Allah/Mohammad because she does not approve of, say, slavery, just as one example.

Maybe we should be loling the person who inspired those 26,883 terrorist attacks, your boy Mohammad.
More terrorists have been named after him that after any other person in the history of the world....just think about that.

Nor does it mean that it was what the author intended. The way the Quran like any theological text is interpreted is relative to the individual and your interpretation does not typify the interpretation of all the practiconers of Islam.

It's better to cast love into his heart that the hatred that Mohammad has cast into his heart.
We also need a reasonable military response, I believe, in the short term, but the long term will be the ideological war.

Correct. But it does not NEED to represent 100%.....only 19 people killed 3000 people with their particular understanding, in one day alone. The fact that people interpret it in different ways likely shows that it's not from the all-knowing, all-loving creator of the entire universe, but rather from an ancient primitive, which makes way more sense of course.

Too bad the author ("god") is not ever real, or he could clear this up by just snapping his supposed all-powerful fingers. Yes, it would be nice if Thor was real.

For something that isn't real, you sure like to obsess over Him.

Do you obsess over Santa when December hits?

We are not imposed upon to believe in Santa under a threat of force or an afterlife of torture. When kids grow up, it's explained to them that Santa isn't real. Are you really trying to compare these two? Apples and oranges buddy.

Hehe, good point. We'll, uh, write "peace and love" on the bombs and stick lovely flowers in them before we drop them from 10,000 feet!

We need a multi-pronged approach, unfortunately. But our main long-term focus should be to win the ideological war, with MSH leading the way. Our gov't is not doing that, because Jesus lovers won't let Islam be attacked, being a fellow Abrahamic faith and all, so Jesus is one of the "people" standing in the way of that, indirectly. They know that to attack, say, the concept of "jinns" (an easy-to-attack ridiculous concept) would lead to "angels" (equally absurd!) being attacked, and no, we can't have that, now can we!

    Great article, I love it!

"Atheists are hypocritical enough to think that killing 5 billion theists equates to world peace"....can we both agree that killing millions of people is bad....such as if that quote were true and such as when "god" killed around 20 million people or so in his "flood"? Can we agree on that?

I "obsess" over the crime of my fellow humans believing in nonsense like "jinns" or "devils" etc. (because they are afraid of their own eventual natural deaths) because I care about them. Jinns have exactly the same amount of court-room level of evidence as Santa does. Too bad this "Allah" doesn't care about us enough to provide said evidence....a snap of his alleged all-mighty fingers would do it.

I myself would not lead 27 offensive military raids like Mohammad allegedly did, so I'd like to think I'm more into love than Mohammad was.

I disagree with many things Mohammad taught. But that is not the point here, is it.

MSH supports forced income redistribution. It supports racism by demanding that races by treated differently by demanding quotas, affirmative action, and unequal standards of punishment. MSH is intolerant of religion. Morality is whatever their leaders say it is at the given time.

SH is communism and Marxism in a new wrapper. Humanists only complain about Whites and Judeo Christians history of slavery, and do absolutely nothing about taking on those who currently enslave in Africa and Asia. They have sent no army to counter Boko Haram. They do not boycott nations with active slavery such as Marinatura and Togo.

MSH activists are morally bankrupt themselves.

What atheists usually do is demonstrate the invalidity of a God claim by showing how the level of evidence for God is the same as for things like Santa or the tooth fairy or pink unicorns or the flying spaghetti monster. The point of the exercise is to show that it is irrational to believe in God precisely b/c the lack of evidence for God is the same as the lack of evidence for Santa. The question is, if Santa is not something you should believe is real, why is God something you should believe is real? And why should it be a moral crime to not believe in God when it is not a moral crime not to believe in Santa? You have some major challenges here.
