How did your god come into being? If he is the only one of his kind, how is that possible? He must have been awfully lonely, which is probably why he created the angels so they could bear witness to his creation of the universe and us. And while we're at it, did he create his supposed residence - heaven? My answer as an agnostic atheist is that man created god, but to theists this question must be a serious poser.
We are not told the answer anywhere so how could we possibly tell ot to you? On the other hand, how is science doing explaining creation, still working on it huh?
Actually mine wasn't created. But misinterpreted. When the ancients saw these E.T.'s land here, they being so technology advanced they took the E.T.'s as gods. Who else could come from the heavens and land on earth with all their fancy gadgets the ancients couldn't possibly understand. These E.T.'s were then declared gods and to this day we await their return.
What is an agnostic atheist? IMO, one can only be a theist, an agnostic or an atheist, not a combination.
"I am who am" Always was, always will be. The proof in my eyes is in my faith and the fact that the universe also has no beginning and no end.
"who created your god?" Eternity was not created, it always was, and always will be. Creation is the cause, everything else is the effect. Cause and effect.
Agnostic is about knowledge. The agnostic doesn't claim to know, with certainty. Atheist is about belief. The atheist does not believe in gods. This describes me well. I cannot prove gods don't exist with metaphysical certainty, but I don't believe that they do. Same goes for Santa, I'm an agnostic atheist. I rate Santa and God as equally probable.
An agnostic atheist is one who does not claim to "know" that god doesn't exist but chooses not to believe in god in the absence of evidence. - - - Updated - - - Ever seen "The God's must be Crazy"?
Yep, science is still working on it. That is the nature of science. OTOH, theology still seems to be dependent on apologetics to defend its dogma, as more and more human knowledge is accumulated.
God said He is the beginning and the end. I don't think there is room for another creator in that erternal time span.
I don't know. How did you come into being? That is rhetorical, because the answer is the same. We don't know. We guess. We speculate. We imagine. But we do not know. 1. As to multiple gods or supernatural beings, the answer is the same. I don't know. Could it be possible? Sure. IF we premise the existence of a metaphysical realm, THEN the obvious reality is that we don't really know much about this realm. But declaring that it does NOT exist is no more 'scientific' than believing it does. 2. I don't know HOW or WHY God created anything, if at all. I have some religious speculation by those who claimed an encounter with the Divine, but i am not privy to all the information. I have had my own encounter, so all i 'know' is what my experience taught me. I could extrapolate my own onto others but that is an assumption, & not a given. 3. Your BELIEF is that millions of other humans are delusional & just 'created' God for various reasons, but you do not KNOW this to be fact. This is merely your belief in the explanation of the millions of humans who believe in God. There are 2 possibilities, regarding the supernatural. 1. It exists. 2. It does not exist. It has been a part of humanity for time immemorial, so you cannot just dismiss it as something faddish or new. Billions of people for thousands of years have diverse beliefs about a metaphysical realm. You, a tiny, recent human in the face of eternity, claim to have Absolute Knowledge about this now, & are instructing all of humanity based on your beliefs. Please don't be offended if i don't take you seriously. That is very arrogant, in a juvenile kind of way, but you are not alone. Many people seem obsessed with demanding that everyone believe as they do, so it is a common trait of humans. You can believe whatever you want, based on the information you have. If you believe your information to be credible, devoid of any agenda, then you can sleep soundly at night, believing yourself to be at the pinnacle of enlightenment. But, should some of your information be sullied with HUMANITY, how can you give yourself unreservedly to these notions? Might not the information be faulty, or misapplied in some way? Might it not be tied into some agenda of control or manipulation? How do you KNOW that the information you base your beliefs on is absolute? These are also rhetorical questions. You do not know. You cannot know. You only believe. Therefore, you are only ridiculing the beliefs of others, while standing on the same shaky foundation of everyone else: The Platform of Belief.
If a Creator of space, time, matter exists, it is outside of space, matter, time, and therefore timeless. Being timeless, does not require a creator for God. If God is limited to being in time, then it would have to have a creator. So, if you like the ideas of the physicist Tom Campbell, you would use the metaphor of God being a timeless consciousness, that exists independent of time, space, matter. And therefore, time, space, matter is manifested from this Timeless Consciousness. And since thought, which is of time, can never touch or understand that which is not of time, we use metaphors in an attempt to talk about it. But do not confuse the metaphor with what the metaphor stands for, nor confuse the word, with the thing the word stands for. Stop corrupting the language. An agnostic atheist is an oxymoron. One cannot be an agnostic theist either. An agnostic says, he does not know, but the atheist, in their ego arrogance, claim to know. The theist in their arrogance claim that they know. Neither know jack squat, and are trying to turn an opinion with zero evidence, into fact. Arrogance, ignorant arrogance. Enough already. Have some *******ned integrity, how bout it? LOL
Its a story about a bushman who sees a huge noisy bird in the sky that craps out an empty Coke bottle. Questions and worship ensue. Its rather humorous and touching.
So your god does not have causality but our universe does. How convenient. So how exactly did god come to be? How did it become the "only" being of its type? What was its purpose in "creating" humans as such a fleetingly temporal creature? Seems theists start with a conclusion and then work out a totally unprovable explanation for it. God of the gaps indeed. Live and learn: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnostic_atheism http://www.catholic.com/quickquestions/is-there-a-difference-between-atheists-and-agnostics What was that about ignorant arrogance? As to integrity, when you get over that ignorant arrogance, you might find some.
Agnostic atheist is a new one on me. I'm one who doesn't believe in the existence of the popular/religious notion of a mythical god. So while I can't prove a negative and I certainly don't know everything, I believe there are unknowns that are possible but I don't believe a god is possible. That is NOT a claim, it's a belief. In the popular definition, I would be called an atheist, which makes your definition incorrect. I see an agnostic as a fence straddler who doesn't want to eliminate the possibility of the existence of a god in his/her own mind so he/she says "I don't know but maybe". IMO theism, atheism and agnosticism are mutually exclusive (as popularly defined), the terms can't be combined to form yet another definition. And back to the topic, who created god, man did (from an atheist's perspective that is).
Belief is irrelevant in the larger scheme of things. If you believe, that's your business. But it doesn't meany anything outside of you. It has no effect. The supernatural is eroded each time there is a scientific discovery. The supernatural has been eroded to the benefit of humankind. The last redoubt of the supernatural is god.
He's eternal, and always existed. We can start with the fact that He is the eternal, absolute Truth. You can't have two Truths. He is self-sufficient, and needs nothing, so He doesn't get "lonely." Yes, as He is the Creator of everything.
