Largely true -- The US hold on the world was more complete after WWII than after WWI. (After WWI the US left big fault lines in place in the world's monetary and financial systems, that eventually led to the Great Depression, which in turn led to the rise of fascist regimes, which in turn led to the war.)

But make no mistake, it is not, and has not been, by market forces that the dollar reigns supreme. In the post-1945 period alone, Japan, West Germany and Saudi Arabia (plus China that I mentioned) have all chipped in their economic power to help support the dollar, ultimately at a cost to their own future. You could also argue that the entire Middle East policy revolves around supporting the dollar, even if it ended up generating so much instability and violence.

The key to remember is that, once the US and the rest of the world is addicted to the dollar and Treasury bubbles, it is very painful, especially for the US, if the bubble bursts. All deceptions, manipulations, peaceful and violent machinations are aimed at avoiding this pain.

P.S. Despite what today's economics 'experts' will tell you WRT the merits (or lack thereof) of the gold standard, no country has chosen to leave the gold standard. It is always a run on the gold that forces a country out. Think about that -- the world is not what it seems. (Mainstream economists were almost universally in favor of the gold standard when it was in place, just as they are now universally against. Both times, I'm sure it just happens, they are saying just what the elites want(ed) to hear.)

I'm not confused at all, buddy. Trump won the college educated white vote. As did Romney, as did McCain. Your claim that he did not carry the college educated white vote is simply false. You've really got to do your research before throwing out misinformation like that.

As usual, another Trump supporter deflects his error with misinformation, but be that as it may, it WAS in FACT Trump, not some liberal, who coined the term "poorly educated" to describe his supporters. Wow, doesn't that make you feel all warm and cuddly inside?
As for who voted for him, well HE obviously didn't think as you do that they were college educated whites. However, among whites, Trump won an overwhelming share of those without a college degree; and among white college graduates – a group that many identified as key for a potential Clinton victory – Trump outperformed Clinton by a narrow 4-point margin. Hardly a stunning sweep. http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tan...s-victory-divisions-by-race-gender-education/
Nobody ever said Trump wasn't a brilliant con man, as you folks will soon find out.

I made no error at all, you did. You claimed that Trump did not carry the college educated white vote, and he did. I proved that with Pew statistics, which is not "misinformation." You even confirmed that I was right in the latter section of this post. How embarrassing.

I guarantee that's not true. Know how I know? I can't find an news article that specifically states how that segment voted. Instead I get some sort of contrived analysis about how if 100,000 people in some educated states voted one way Clinton would have won, or how Clinton did worse in uneducated counties. It's all bull. You can't say "The majority of college educated whites voted for Trump". That information isn't out there.

Uh, I already gave the information in this thread based on Pew research. You must have done a horrible job at searching for it.

Nice to know what your "guarantee" is worth.

After four years, and perhaps even eight, you'll look around and see pretty much the same America as today. In my disdain for liberalism and its new icon, Obama, I felt the same way then as you feel now. Today, I look around and see pretty much the same America. Maybe it's because Obama's political capital was blown on a failed health care law, and from that point forward, as a co-equal in power, he couldn't get anything done. Maybe Trump will blow his political capital, too. The House could be Democratic again, and then who know if anything will be accomplished.

The bottom line, we still have three co-equal branches of government, separation of powers, checks and balances. Have faith in the Constitution. It works to prevent radicals from doing too much damage.

Another thread with people complaining before they know just what is going to happen. These type of people should never leave the house because they may be killed in a car accident.

lmao okay. So we're going to 1) Rely on the exit polls, the same thing that declared Clinton a clear winner. 2) Ignore the fact that most college educated voters voted for Clinton 3) Ignore the fact that if the 4 point gap was 0, it wouldn't have changed the outcome.

And I'm right. They don't know how college educated whites actually voted. That information isn't available. This is a freaking poll.

Besides your ulterior motive is to point out that "smart people voted for Trump", when your own source clearly shows that they didn't. In fact, there is a direct correlation with the level of education and their opinions. Look at the "some college or less" category. That's hilarious. Your own source is proving that your point is BS.

So were the exit polls in 2012 and 2008 wrong as well? They predicted an Obama win, and also showed that college educated whites went for the Republican.

I'm not ignoring it, my claim was that college educated whites went for Trump, and they did. Overall college educated went for Clinton due to the monolithic voting habits of certain minority groups.

So what? That literally has nothing to do with my point.

The information is available, I just gave it. Suddenly no polls are credible?

The source supports my argument that college educated whites voted for Trump over Clinton, just like they voted for Romney and McCain over Obama. I make this point whenever a left-wing snob attempts to ridicule Republicans by suggesting that only whites without a college degree vote for them. Truth is, both whites with college degrees and without college degrees side with Republicans. Whites voting Democrat are in the minority, and I want to remind them of that. The two least educated racial groups in the country are blacks and Hispanics. Guess how they vote?

Yes. It's a poll. They typically have a factor of error larger than 5%.
Let's do some math. Only 20% of black people have a college degree. They only make up 13% of the population, and only 25% of the population, plus only 80% of the population can vote, and only 80% of black people voted for Clinton. So with a population of 330M, that's equal to roughly 1.4M black people voted for Clinton. Let's run those same numbers for the rest of the country, but with 87% instead of 13% and 33%, which is the percentage of people who have a college degree. Roughly 19M. So black people make up roughly 7% of the vote. If 30% more of them voted republican, then you get a 2% swing. Not enough for a Trump victory among college educated voters.

What I want to know is why it matters? Even if they were a big enough vote to swing things, why bring it up? Do you think black people can't vote in the way they want to? Do you think all black people are being selfish? Do you think they're being manipulated? Or do you think the Republican party just doesn't do a good job with black voters and you're salty about that? What's your point? Do you want to attract more black voters to the Republican party?

Did I say they were not credible? They're inaccurate. They're not representative of the actual population. It's a flawed method done to save money.

And college educated voters who vote republican are in the minority. So unless you explain the significance of being white, your point is ambiguous. Of course, that's probably intentional. You'd hate to say something like, "White people are better than other people, and white people with a college education are even better than uneducated people. And white people with a college education voted for Trump". But that's what you want us to infer, isn't it?

A failure on your part to observe the ideals gandrews is referring to is a dismal shortcoming for the American future.

gandrews, would you show one mind what an American capable of working with ideals is capable of? Answering these two simple inquiries that are in the form of declarations so they can also serve a higher legal purpose will do it.

--As a Citizen of a state of the united states for America, do you understand, agree and accept then DECLARE it is constitutional intent that the framers of the founding documents intended for us to alter or abolish government destructive to the ideal of our unalienable rights?

As a Citizen of a state of the united states for America, do you understand, agree, accept then DECLARE it is constitutional intent that the ultimate purpose of free speech be to enable the unity adequate to effectively alter or abolish government destructive to the ideal of our unalienable rights?--

So the 2012 and 2008 polls that showed Obama beating Romney and McCain were not reliable, even though they predicted Obama winning in both cases?

Are you under the impression that blacks are the only minority group voting for Democrats? A strong majority of Hispanics and Asians who have college degrees also sided with Democrats. Whites only comprise 62% of the population, so the remaining 38% is more than enough to swing a 4% margin.

Let's split the country into two groups. Those with a college degree and those without. Of the people who do not have a college degree, Trump won. Of those without a college degree Clinton won. So when you say, "the most uneducated groups in the country..." You're actually wrong. What's the point of drilling into race? To retaliate? Against who? The left? Which person? Can you quote your source on this?

No, I'm not. Blacks and Hispanics have the least educational achievement of all other racial groups in the country and they vote overwhelmingly for the Democratic Party.

Why don't you ask "what's the point of drilling into race" of the polls that separate the white vote (and only the white vote), based on educational level? They do this for no other group.

Did you know that people with button noses vote overwhelmingly democrat too?

Look at you! Dodging questions like a champ! After all, it's not your fault that you have this opinion. You're only retaliating. How terrible of these polls to break apart the data by race! Such manipulative meanies! It's everyone else's fault! Never yours. You're just a drone. Can't have an independent thought if you tried, and that means you can say anything, like an ignorant child. Poor, misguided you.

They do? Prove it. I can prove my point, it's the least you could do.

Looks like you couldn't answer my question, so you threw a tantrum instead. Typical. Besides, I wasn't complaining that they broke apart the data by race, I was complaining about how they separated just the white vote based on education, when they did this for no other group.

You grew leviathan willingly when it gave you some things you wanted. Now you throw tantrums like entitled toddlers when the truth of power finally comes to light. I highly doubt that you'll learn the lesson, and will simply repeat it over and over again,

I was trying to show you how silly you sound, but you took it serious. :frown:

The other group is non-white. It's the inverse. If they made a graph to show it, would you feel better?

The reason they put those graphs there is to show how education and race factor into popular opinions. That way the republican and democratic candidates can understand how their platforms are being received by the various races and groups of people. That's why I asked you whether or not you felt that republicans should change their platform. You said it wasn't important, so given that polls like these generally have a 5% margin of error, why you would bring it up to begin with is confusing. That's why all I have been doing is asking you why you brought it up. I can only deduce that you are a racist since you have put so much effort into not answering my question. I can also deduce that you are ashamed to be called racist. Perhaps you should search your feelings and think deeply about what you really think.

And don't forget that college educated people voted for Clinton. Uneducated people voted for Trump.
