Do you support Europe's influx of Syrian terrorists...Ahem, I mean, refugees?

You do know that the vast majority of the recent terrorist attacks in Europe have been carried out by European born nationals don't you? Refugees for the most part are just glad to escape from places like Aleppo and are interested only in finding a safer life and obtaining work to support their families.

That was the implication of your ''accidental'' slip of the tongue though. It is fact not opinion that the vast majority of the recent terror attacks have not been made by refugees, Syrian or otherwise.

Thank you once again for inserting your opinion.

I was asking the OP how he or she felt about the influx of Syrian terrorists, or refugees as some call them. Once again, I appreciate your opinion on the matter.

So you are asking two different questions. How does he feel about terrorists and how does he feel about refugees.

That was not my question. I asked a single question. I'm also wondering why you're still responding to me when I'm addressing the OP, who started a thread that says "ask me anything". You gave me your opinion already.

I'm just pointing out the prejudice in your loaded question. It is a dishonest question based on ignorance or bigotry.

We're rather negative people. We have the 17th highest suicide rate and french culture is rather marked by a deep pessimism, especially since the loss of influence of the country, and it was particulary accentued by the two world war, as far as I know, mainly by the first one.

Furthermore, french are rather contestative people since we had four revolutions in one century (1789, 1828, 1848, 1870), at the opposite of german, french don't respect that much rules. For instance, if you put a sign on a public place with "don't walk on the grass" wrotten, you can be rather sure that french will walk on the grass and the german one.

No. Marine Le Pen never mentionned something about great grand parents. For instance, for a socialcare she promissed, she wrotte "only for people with french nationality or living for at least for twenty years in France".
She want to get out of shengen, ask french people for getting out of EU.
Yes, the biggest difference is the behaviour toward the EU and the migrants.

I think we should help them, let them free to move into the EU seems however a bad decision. The best would to work with muslim countries like Algeria, Morroco, Tunisia for them to welcome them against some financial support.

    Yes but married.

Sorry, I got some health issues and couldn't taste that much alcohol so I never get my taste get used to wines. I think that we don't have the monopoly of good wine and that french wine grower should stay carefull to keep a good quality.

    It's hard to say.

For the best, I would think to Richelieu and Mazarin because they enabled the country to find back civil peace after the religion war and succeeded to build a powerfull nation from a devastated country.
De Gaulle would be probably in that top. He succeeded to give in WW2 France enough importance to make them signatories of the capitulation of Germany and Japan despite the deep disaster of 1940. It's greatly because of him we have nukes today, and he ruled globally wisely when he was a president even if he did a lot of mistakes, but he is still human.

For the worst, hard to say.
Napoleon was a really gifted general, but in the long terme, he weakened the country more than he helped it. The napoleonic wars caused the death of 1 million french when the revolution already caused 1 million. For a country of around 30 millions people it's harsh. Furthermore it created in a deep hatred of french in a lot of countries.
Louis XIV did a huge mistake by deporting the protestants, but he globally permitted the country to stay powerfull in the long term.

Secularism is something important in France since a century, it's not new. However, secularism in France was thought for catholics, the coming of muslims and their traditions like the veil force the country to update seculaism.

He is not registered in any party, he is much younger than most french politician, he was not a politician who worked only as a politician at the opposite of a lot of french politician, and especially, he is a good friend with the billionnaires who own the newspapers.

A royal cheese. Some publicist tend to overuse english words in french to looks like "modern".

It was mainly an aristocrate thing. I never met someone who don't scorn deeply the people who could cheat on their wife/husband. However, we still don't care of what happens in the president bedroom. Our president can have two mistress we wouldn't care.

Would you care about your president owning a gun?

    Viva Le Pen.
Charles de Gaulle would be proud.

You can have guns (legally) in France, but it would be tougher. The most recent president aren't hunters, but they were some hunters before, so they owned guns.

I don't know. Our militaries are good and motivated, but french army often had the problem of unskilled leaders. In 1870, in the beginning of WW1 and in 1940, french generals commited huge tactics mistakes.
We don't have the hugest army, but we have 300 nukes which is enough to defend ourselves. However, today, most of our ennemies are inside the country.

Macron seems just the puppet of medias.
Marine Le Pen don't say only stupid things and some of her propositions are quit good, but I don't trust really trust her, and even less her parti.

I'm studying the political propositions, I would like to search more about the personnalities of both Macron and le Pen, and who are their adviser and team. You can sometimes learn more about some politician by watching at their team rather them.
