That is truth. When I was in college back in the Dark Ages I was taking a history class. We got into a discussion of World War II and the teacher began talking about the War in the Pacific. Well, my father was actually IN the War in the Pacific; a Navy fighter pilot, and I'd been a student of that period ever since I was in elementary school... and when this teacher began talking about things that simply didn't happen, and misidentified events my father had been directly involved in, I raised my hand and talked about his experiences in relation to the events being discussed. After the class, I was taken aside by the instructor and told that if I ever questioned him again he would summarily fail me for the semester. I promptly told him where he could stick his class and dropped it. I spent quite a bit of time in the library going over my notes to the semester up to that point and found a laundry list of inconsistencies and falsehoods in what we'd been taught up to that point, and filed an official complaint against the instructor. Nothing came of it, of course, because he was a "tenured professor of history"; so a lot of students went through his class being taught history that hadn't happened.
Yeah, truth. I took a class on Modern Latin America in the 80s, which was basically revolutionary worship by the died in the wool, self-admitted Marxist. It was right after my ROTC class, so I attended class in uniform. It didn't help matters when she asked the class on the first day why we were taking the class and I told her "To know my enemies". Only F I ever got.
You're lucky - In my 200-level US history class - more properly titled "how the white man screwed everyone, 1865-present", we were going to SKIP WW2. I organized an e-mail campaign, and got the prof to add a lecture period on the subject. What did we cover? The internment of the Japanese, clearly, the most important aspect of the subject. This sounds familiar! Maybe we went to the same school!
I will never forget the day we leftists rolled all our tanks on to campuses all over the country and took over academia. A great day in american history! LOL
Yeah, that sounds right. We see American history classes out there now that start with the Civil War and are all about the criminal offenses the U.S. committed from that point forward. We see a focused attempt to eliminate any discussion of the Revolution or the ideals of the Founders. LOL! Could be. More likely it's endemic of how modern academia seeks to crush any questioning of their narratives.
Exactly! The virtues of THEIR speech, and the acceptance of THEIR agendas... when in reality they attack free speech and do everything they can to crush the rights of anyone who won't capitulate to their narratives and cause.
Face it. If the left controls academia it is only because the right is to weak and powerless to do anything about it
OK, tell us how the right can change the dominant liberal ideology taught by teachers, professors and in schools and Universities, the pop culture that permeates not only the US but the world.
The point I am trying to make is that Academia and pop culture give the people what they want. Nobody is forcing academia or pop culture to act this way. This is what people want. If you want people to follow your side.....make a better case for it. This idea that the left has secretly plotted to take over these areas is laughable. We didn't take over anything....we just made a case that people want to hear. Look you won the presidential election because you made a better case to the american people than the left did. If you can't broaden that to other areas that is not the fault of the left....its your own
that's nonsense. the reason why the left dominates academia is because academics are suckling from the public teat and want more taxation so they get more milk. In the 60s, lefties complained that the major universities weren't "inclusive" and boards made the mistake of hiring lots of lefties who-when they got control-locked conservatives out. Even Liberal academics such as Yale Law professor Akhil Reed Amar-have publicly noted that schools like Yale are too one sided and the leftwing academics are intolerant of diverse ideas.
Frankly I love the idea that the left has somehow locked out the right in academia. It means we are so powerful that we can take over an entire institution without ever firing a shot. LOL
yeah it proves that your anti gun jihad is not about crime control but about harassing the conservative voters
I winder how the right got so weak and powerless in academia? Did it start in the 60's? And it has been going on for over half a century? LOL
I wonder how the left became so weak and powerless in the military and currently the federal government? one place where the left certainly dominates is in prison population. Most felons are fans of the Democrat party
so yet another right wing yahoo has mental diarrhea and you think this is great stuff? Do you know how many teachers, professors, registered democrats and liberals own guns? Are hunters? Exercise their individual states rights to carry a concealed weapon? Yet they are in favor of gun control that does NOT eliminate the former mentioned. No, you don't....and the dope who wrote that article most likely doesn't know either. Do some honest research on the subject and prepare to be shocked.
If I post the name of a VERY liberal navy seal that served in combat would you consider that person a hero?
