Why do you think deescalating a situation is considered wussing out though? Had he not slapped the woman I never would have thought he was a wuss. I don't believe in hitting women. However I have no sympathy for this racist bitch. She verbally harassed him with racist insults. The last time a man called me the N-word I beat him within an inch of his life and left him a bloody, drooling mess on the ground. Now if a woman did that I might tell her to shut the f*ck up. Nonetheless, I am not sure that striking a woman--however insulting she may have been (and evidently was)--is ever defensible.

I certainly would not waste my sympathy upon her, as she is not a deserving recipient of it.

I just do not think it is a very masculine thing to do, for a man to strike a woman. (At least, that is what I was always taught.)

 

I agree with you and I was taught to have more respect for women than that. I will say this though, some women take advantage of the principle that men should not hit women and they think they can say anything to a man that they want. Men have feelings too. If she said the same thing to a woman and got smacked in the face or punched there would be no controversy. If a man said that to another man, even a skinny weakling and got beat up there would be no controversy. But some women think that because they are women they are protected from violence against men and take advantage of it by being exceptionally hostile and insulting to them not thinking that they are going to retaliate with physical violence. I don't have sympathy for women like that. The women who are innocent victims of men who take advantage of their superior strength to hurt them are the ones who deserve sympathy. Even still while I've never been racially abused by a woman in person I would show some restraint and not get violent with her. If a woman gets violent with me all I have to do is restrain her. She would have to be an Amazon with some serious strength or really know how to fight for me to need to do anything other than just grab her and stop her attack. If I had to hit a woman I wouldn't feel good about it but my survival and well-being means more to me than the moral principle of not hitting women because I'm a man. That idea is ingrained in our culture and with good reason however there are some reasonable exceptions to the extent any sane man would go to uphold that principle.

I don't support anyone using the N-word. The intent here though was clearly to insult the man and there is a reason why Whites using the N-word carries more of an offense in the minds of Black people. She was using it in a racist and hateful way. I don't have an ounce of sympathy for her. If a man did that and got punched in the face most people would say it was justified retaliation. So not only is she being racist but she is taking advantage of the "don't hit women" principle by thinking she can insult a man however she wants and not expect retaliation. I probably would have just called her a racist bitch and walked off. This guy decided to hit her in the face and that's not the behavior of a gentleman however her behavior is also distasteful. Racism is not ok. Racism is very offensive and has no place in a civilized society.

Like I said before since this was on video I don't expect any charges to be filed against the man given that her racist verbal assault was a hate crime (which I support) so she basically got put in her place, so to speak, for being a racist bitch and suffered a sore face.
