Is the NRA partially to blame for the Charlottesville violence?

"Governor McAuliffe fiercely defended the police in an impromptu sidewalk interview, noting that many of the demonstrators were armed, and saying the officers had done 'great work' in a 'very delicate situation.'....

"By the time both groups converged on the park, a line of camouflage-clad militia members toting assault rifles were standing outside the park, looking very much like an invading army. 'They had better equipment than our State Police had,' Mr. McAuliffe said."

Lax gun laws supported by the NRA made it easy for Neo-Nazis to be armed. Perhaps the police would have felt more comfortable about intervening and stopping the violence if they had not been outgunned.

I don't blame the police with all those hopped up storm troopers running around armed to the teeth trying to play soldier. But when you have open carry states, that's something you have to live with thanks in part to the quasi-terrorist organization, the NRA.

The milita were there to protect free speech, not the protestors.

Not to mention, your premise is stupid.

They weren't playing anything. They're vets and former police.

That's the only groups the Oath Keepers take.

I haven't looked but I also didn't see anyone with firearms in the pictures I did see.

And no the NRA had nothing to do with people beating on Each other with clubs and fists.

Meh, McAuliffe lies. The police there already came out and said that wasn't true. McAuliffe also claimed weapons were stashed around the city. Another lie according to the police.

Any outfit that is not officially chartered by the municipality, state or federal government are nothing but pretend soldiers whether or not you want to admit it. They have no legal standing whatsoever in any official capacity.

You can tell these are men used to carrying firearms. Not surprising at all, none were used.

You need to read the threads before responding instead of reading one or two and then posting.

    Yeah, we do.

It's called the Constitution. You should read up on how the founders felt about it or something.

Forming a militia is only illegal in one state that I know of.

I'm a Marine. Always have been, and always will be.

I don't need your approval, and neither does any of my brothers.

I don't recommend testing the pretend part.

I never said you did need my approval; if you want to play soldier, then re-up and knock yourself out.

The sarcasm will likely be lost.

    I loved it though!

    Uh huh.

Go to an oath keeper function and look into their eyes and see if you see any pretend in them.

Meanwhile, you can go back to being someone who has never put their life on the line for their country.

    Your opinion is meaningless.
