You cannot have censorship by the government against private sector media, no matter how much of a propoganda tool it may or may not be. People have the right to turn off or switch to another TV channel should they choose; that's about as close to individual censorship as we can get. It could be said that NPR (if they still receive government funding) is a tool for the government's mouthpiece, however they are not owned by the government nor is Fox so I don't see an issue there as well.

If Fox chooses to be a mouthpiece for the Trump administration, then so be it; that's their choice which they are entitled to.

7 Reasons Why Liberals Are Incapable of Understanding The World
    John Hawkins | August 23, 2011

To understand the workings of American politics, you have to understand this fundamental law: Conservatives think liberals are stupid. Liberals think conservatives are evil.Charles Krauthammer

Even liberals who've accomplished a lot in their lives and have high IQs often say things on a regular basis that are stunningly, profoundly stupid and at odds with the way the world works. Modern liberalism has become so bereft of common sense and instinctually suicidal that America can only survive over the long haul by thwarting the liberal agenda. In fact, liberalism has become such a toxic and poisonous philosophy that most liberals wouldn't behave differently if their goal were to deliberately destroy the country. So, how does liberalism cause well-meaning, intelligent liberals to get this way? Well, it starts with...

    1) Liberalism creates a feedback loop. It is usually impossible for a non-liberal to change a liberal's mind about political issues because liberalism works like so: only liberals are credible sources of information. How do you know someone's liberal? He espouses liberal doctrine. So, no matter how plausible what you say may be, it will be ignored if you're not a liberal and if you are a liberal, of course, you probably agree with liberal views. This sort of close-mindedness makes liberals nearly impervious to any information that might undermine their beliefs.

    2) Liberals sources of information are ever present. Conservatives are regularly exposed to the liberal viewpoint whether they want to be or not. That's not necessarily so for liberals. Imagine the average day for liberals. They get up and read their local newspaper. It has a liberal viewpoint. They take their kids to school, where the teachers are liberal. Then they go to work, listen to NPR which has a liberal viewpoint on the way home, and then turn on the nightly news which also skews leftward. From there, they turn on TV and watch shows created by liberals that lean to the left, if they have any political viewpoint at all. Unless liberals actively seek out conservative viewpoints, which is unlikely, the only conservative arguments they're probably going to hear are going to be through the heavily distorted, poorly translated, deeply skeptical lens of other liberals.

    Great post.

And to prove one of the points Krauthammer made.

A little dated, but nothing has changed, in fact, it's only gotten worse

When I read posts like the one in the OP, I can't imagine how someone can fail to connect the dots. If it didn't happen over and over from other like minded people, I'd swear the poster was just pulling everyone's leg.

But they aren't. Ban Fox, with an audience of perhaps 3-4 million, and champion the left's media partners with an audience 10-20 times that number.

    It boggles the mind.

TV Executives Admit in Taped Interviews That Hollywood Pushes a Liberal Agenda (Exclusive Video)
5:00 AM PDT 6/1/2011 by Paul Bond

    • EMAIL ME

    • In clips that will hit the Internet to promote a new book, producers including "Friends" co-creator Marta Kauffman and "House" creator David Shore say Hollywood discriminates against and belittles conservatives.
Some of TV’s top executives from the past four decades may have gotten more than they bargained for when they agreed to be interviewed for a politically charged book that was released Tuesday, because video of their controversial remarks will soon be hitting the Internet.

The book makes the case that TV industry executives, writers and producers use their clout to advance a liberal political agenda. The author bases his thesis on, among other things, 39 taped interviews that he’ll roll out piecemeal during the next three weeks.

The Hollywood Reporter obtained several of the not-yet-released clips, embedded below. Each contains a snippet of an interview, usually some historical footage of the TV shows the interviewee was responsible for and, naturally, a plea to purchase the book, “Primetime Propaganda” by Ben Shapiro and published by Broad Side, an imprint of HarperCollins.

In one video, Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman says that when she cast Candace Gingrich-Jones, half-sister of Republican former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, as the minister of a lesbian wedding, “There was a bit of ‘**** you’ in it to the right wing.”

Kauffman also acknowledges she “put together a staff of mostly liberal people,” which is another major point of Shapiro’s book: that conservatives aren’t welcome in Hollywood.

Maybe that’s because they’re “idiots” and have “medieval minds.” At least that’s what Soap and Golden Girls creator Susan Harris thinks of TV’s conservative critics.

However, the ranks of dumb right-wingers has dwindled, according to Harris, whose video has her saying: “At least, you know, we put Obama in office, and so people, I think, are getting – have gotten – a little bit smarter.”

That is funny stuff. FOX did not save me from remaining a Democrat. What saved me was once I read A Time For Truth, by William E. Simon ... it gave me the will to study what Democrats stood for. Then a dose of Thomas Paine and other books on what the true nature of government, what ours is supposed to be, why we lost the government of our founders, and who did it to us, I understood at last I had been wrong to be a Democrat and wrong to vote them into office and that the independents are kidding themselves if they think they won't be under either the republicans or the democrats. That when they vote for democrats, they ruin their own chances.

FOX is not my major source at all. I even look at international news. Frankly it tends to help me understand FOX when I happen to read FOX.

    No, it's from liberals.

IOW it's the standard, the norm, the accepted, and always has been. That should tell you something.

This is another example of right wing propaganda that the right cannot see through: liberalism is actually centrism.

    I'm not a liberal. I'm a true leftist.

Give me a break. Fox is one 24 hours news channel which around 2 million people watch. Sure Fox spouts and gives news in a right leaning way. But on the other side you have CNN and MSNBC giving us the news in a left leaning way or bias. I have no doubt cable news is pushing agendas, left and right. If one want straight news, just the facts, one isn't going to get it on cable. Well, that is unless one is willing to watch and shift through C-Span which is unfiltered politically.

It is my opinion that Fox is indeed a propaganda news station for the GOP. Just like CNN and MSNBC is for the Democrats. Granted, everyone of us have our political biases. Those biases determines which station we watch. Cable news is a for profit organization and as such tries to give their viewers what they want. Whether that slant or bias is left or right depends strictly on their audience.

Corporations owns those station or networks. Corporations are in the news business to make money and to keep their viewership happy. I see nothing wrong in presenting the news from a left and right bias or agenda through the three cable news networks. They give viewers a choice. I think once someone recognizes the biases, the better off we'll be and then will take the news we get on cable with a grain of salt.

You mean praise? Only right wing extremist sources do that. But I do hear the MSM speak in neutral terms about him often, and it's disgusting.

Exactly. It was the left's attempt to counter what they perceived Fox to be.

    Think about that.

Rather than think, gee, there is an audience for programing that doesn't take a liberal slant on everything, lets see if we can tap into that. They took a direction to confirm their bias.

We don't need one, we didn't get one, and all we got was a redistribution of wealth upward to the top1% and an increase of $1.5 trillion *in the national debt* over ten years.

I set my browser to open up with Yahoo News, the source of daily Trump Trashing, then FOX which sticks to the news and next this forum where the Trump trashing never ends with a few of us trying to tell the Democrats what really happens and finally my mail.

In my mail I find plenty of truth about Trump and it comes not from FOX but trusted sources. I even get the hate driven news against Trump. Trump for instance can reply to Kim Jong Un that his threats to nuke us will be foiled off and he will suffer are turned into hateful vendettas against Trump.

We have a source on the forum using a gear head as his avatar who slams Trump virtually daily and he copies and pastes things from places like CNN and MSNBC.

What drives Democrats off the rails is that despite them shoving road blocks into his face, he bounces back and wins. We the public win when Donald wins.

The media is blasting the tax cuts and never blasted the one sided ACA at all. Supposedly it's flaws were just fine.

Get the heck out of here MSNBC is owned by Comcast

MSNBC is owned by theNBCUniversal News Group, a unit of the NBCUniversal Television Group division of NBCUniversal, all of which are owned by Comcast. MSNBC and its website were founded in 1996 under a partnership between Microsoft and General Electric's NBC unit, hence the network's naming.
