Resistance: Here's What Democrats Refused to Applaud During Trump's SOTU Address

    With many of them clad in black, the Democrats who did show up to President Trump’s first State of the Union address Tuesday night were not happy about it. In fact, they seemed so focused on opposing everything he said they couldn’t even bring themselves to applaud things that are normally considered bipartisan.

    They set the tone for their behavior that evening right away, by refusing to stand to greet Trump and many even first lady Melania Trump.

    The resistance continued, with most Democrats also refusing to applaud:

    - job creation

    - higher wages

    - lower African American and Hispanic unemployment rates

    - bonuses for employees

    - securing the border

    - fighting the opioid epidemic

    - merit-based immigration

    - the American flag and the national anthem

    - in God we trust

    - a path to citizenship

    - Recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital

    - diminishing the Islamic State

    - lower prescription drug costs

    - defense and modernizing our nuclear arsenal

    And this:

    - entire row of Democrats refusing to stand for family whose two girls were murdered by MS-13

    “Democrats are no longer just the party of resistance and obstruction, they are now also the party of sitting on their hands,” the RNC said. “No matter the issue, Democrats chose to sit on their hands tonight.”

    Well. A priceless video, by CNN of all the networks - respect to them for this. Who among us do not believe, 'tis "resistance" is a gift to Republicans?

    Seriously, one be hard to imagine anything more disgraceful than not standing up for grieving family, who' lost their children to an MS-13 gang, or not standing up and cheer for 12 year old girl who' planted an American flag on the grave of a veteran... WTF is wrong with these elected officials? Do they actually represent a current mood of people who elected them, and half the country really cheers MS-13 gang, while boo an American flag on a veteran's grave? Here's a scary thought :hiding:

    Republicans didn’t applaud for Obama because they didn’t like Obama.
    Democrats didn’t applaud for Trump because they don’t like Trump.

    Ain’t rocket science.

    The fact the Dems were brazen enough to bring in illegals (Dreamers) and show support for them is enough to know the prog led Dem party is anti-American.

    If they don't respect the rule of law, there's no need to respect them.

    BS - Democrats don't applaud for Trump because he is a proud nationalist. These progressives hate their own country. That's a hell of a side to back, Daniel.

    Well yes indeed, no argument there - Democrats do not like Trump personally, and have refused to stand and acknowledge any good happenings in this country.

    Republicans have sat and did not clap for anything they considered harmful to America.

    Do Democrats consider following harmful to America?

    - job creation

    - higher wages

    - lower African American and Hispanic unemployment rates

    Obama had six straight years of job growth - Republicans didn't applaud.
    Obama had 10% drop in AfricanAmerican unemployment - Republicans didn't applaud.
    Obama had an average 12% growth in the stock market for seven straight years - Republicans didn't applaud.
    Obama had 13 million more Americans get health insurance - Republicans didn't applaud.
    Obama had a lower violent crime rate than with Reagan or Bush - Republicans didn't applaud.

    Sorry - it just seems you have a very short memory.

    Again, it ain't rocket science - people don't applaud when the other team scores - it's kind of the American way. Sad, but true.

    They somehow spun it in their pea brains that all this was killing America but really they just couldn't tolerate seeing a successful black man because he was a very successful president.
