Sorry but we are now more diverse than you. Not that I can prove it, sorry because we do not count race beyond ATSI in our census data. My rural city has so many overseas born inhabitants that the local MacDonalds is known as the "Philippine Embassy" https://www.communities.qld.gov.au/resources/multicultural/communities/diversity-figures-2011.pdf
I am sorry that you do not know the history of our country nor what the word Liberty means nor the fact that we are probably the only nation that guarantees certain Rights - NOT grants them, but guarantees them
But population concentrations are much the same especially in urban centres And our differing populations are why we should always use " per 100,000" as a primary statistic in comparing death rates Australia .98 USA 4. 88
Nothing personal, but if I knew you were the poster from a foreign country, I would not waste my time with this, but just in case you are: Liberty is the ability to do what you want, when you want without government intervention, provided what you do does not infringe on the Rights of another.
When you purchase an automobile, the government holds the actual title to your vehicle. You are provided a Certificate of Title, not the actual title. It's the government's vehicle. But, I own my firearm and owe the government no Duty since I have an individual Right to own that weapon.
actually, as a member of the Public Militia, you are obliged to serve your country if you are called upon to help put down rebellion, invasion, uprising, or other civil unrest.
Of course they are. A drunk gets in his car and mows your family down in a DUI wreck. I promise you they would be just as dead as if by firearm AND DUIs take as many lives as firearm homicides.
Preach, my brother! Testify! I know what liberty means. It has squat to do with gun ownership. But see, in America, thanks to the 2nd Amendment, we've established a certain religion, a certain cult, around guns.
The Duty to which I spoke of is to provide any government a list of personal belongings. One of the great hallmarks of our constitutional Republic is the Right to own private property. I spent over twenty years in a civilian militia. You?
And yet as many people die by cars as by firearms. Wouldn't happen if banned cars - or maybe booze (or both.)
Cars are largely a necessary hazard. We have liberty-hampering laws in place to make them safer, of course. Such as laws against operating them under the influence of alcohol, and laws that require a license to be able to operate one on a public road at all. These are instances where liberty is surrendered for the greater public good.
maybe we should require licenses and proffeciency exams for possessing and using guns, the same way we do with cars.
