No, we have not. We built a country on the premise of unalienable Rights and Liberty.

America came into being when the government began massacring unarmed colonists.

I went and saw a movie called Dunkirk. Seems that the Germans attacked that country. They put their subs only miles from our shores, so they could reach us, but Germany did not attack the U.S. on the mainland - only in isolated Hawaii, thousands of miles away from the mainland.

The Philippines doesn't have a very high murder rate so I wouldn't expect Filipino immigrants to up your stats by much, if at all.

Immigration from countries with high homicide rates (orange and red) will up the stats and the affect often isn't limited to first generation immigrants but will last indefinitely in subsequent generations.

Plus some of orange countries below surely have much higher rates than are reflected, but they aren't capable or willing to track homicide data accurately so their rates are artificially low.

    I have to challenge that

For example a recent Australian of the year award recipient grew up as a child soldier in the Sudan. We have a LOT of 457 visa holders from around the world and the real difference is how we view firearms

Mass shootings are the issue, and they only happen in the US. Discussing overall crime rates anywhere is not the issue, though crime in countries with strict gun control is usually much lower than in the States. Especially the murder rate.

Happen at a much, much greater rate than any other country. For example, Norway had one in 2011 and hasn't had one since. Australia had one in 1996 and hasn't had one since. The US has had 141 school shootings since Sandy Hook in 2015. That number doesn't include other mass shootings. There is one just today at a veteran's facility in California. The mass shootings in other countries don't even compare to those in the US. We are in a league of our own.

And the body counts are getting higher

It is only a matter of time before there is another Las Vegas, Sandy Hook or Orlando nightclub

Agree. Why these people are so desperate to enable mass shooters is beyond all comprehension.

Norway plus Australia add up to about 20 million people.
So it's not a straight comparison. Murder for murder. Do 300 million people commit more murders than 20 million people?
We expect that answer to be "yes" even before we examine the circumstances.

If Norway, America and Australia all had the same laws, guns, and culture we would still reasonably expect the USA to have 15 times more mass shootings than Australia plus Norway.

With that said. America is still out of control in my estimation.

If we look at all of Europe, which is about the same land mass but much more densely populated, they do not have 15 times more mass shootings than Australia and Norway put together. The reason we have so many mass shootings in the US is the availability of guns. Period. Full stop.

Europe has twice as many people as the US. 741 million in Europe, 323 in the US. Yet over all of Europe, all the countries put together, there are far, far less mass shootings than the US.

That's because in Europe, countries have gun control. It is the guns in America that are the problem.

The European country with the most guns per capita is Cyprus, with 36.4 per 100 residents. In the US it is 101 per 100 residents. We have one gun per man, woman and child in the US, and they are not regulated. There has never been a mass shooting in Cyprus. The problem is too many guns and almost no regulations. So it isn't true that there would be just as many shootings per capita if Australia or Norway had as many people: not true at all.

I Agree. Norway however is not a good example.

Because per capita you have a greater chance of being a mass murder victim in Norway than pretty much anywhere in the USA.

It's very small place. Just the one mass murder is enough to rank it right up there with the worst cases in America.
And to a lesser but still significant extent the same is true of Australia.

Anders Breivik shot 77 children. Which American population group of 5 million has had a greater massacre rate?
    Answer: None.

A country that can use the IRS and the FBI as a political weapon is just a taste of HOW that government can be udermined. We have recently seen that from the previous administration. We also saw how insiders debunked the attempt of Bernie Sanders to compete in a primary.....another taste. Furthermore, we are not a "true Dmocracy". We are a Republican Democracy at best. We are a "Nation of Laws". If our leaders continually seek to usurp those laws.....we do not last.I don't care about Australia one bit. They do not have the same background or people as we do in America. However, I do know our Founders knew that our Democratic/Republic was doomed to fail if we did not maintain a moral populace. We are now on the brink of that precipice as we have seen how the previous administration abused our FISA laws to spy on American Citizen opponents and destroyed subpoenaed documentation in an investigation. Perhaps Australia has not experienced yet this creeping corruption, but given the nature of mankind and the track record of human history......it will not be far off.
