Actually, it's the other way around. Your mind influences your body's chemistry. Outside of physiological birth defects which impact chemistry via organ malfunction, it's all bio-feedback and 'cortisol'.

I see...so you are equating loss of freedoms and foodstuffs to some imagined epidemic of death?

This. It's a wholesale abrogation of duty of care. It's quite disgusting.

Please then explain to me how pain medication functions....or recreational drugs for that matter?

No, they cannot. Personality disorders are environmental, not biological or genetic.

It also means not worrying about hurting feelings of those who are involved. Cold hard facts do not care about "feelings". Libs want everything based on feelings.

You think a suicidal ideation rate of 40% ISN'T maladaptive? You think very high rates of drug and alcohol abuse, depression, and relationship dysfunction ISN'T maladaptive?

I do hope you're not an actual Dr.

    1) O.M.G There are still children starving to death, you know. Doing ANYTHING other than ignoring this 'issue' is grotesquely immoral, given that.

    2) Of course it's a fashion trend. One particularly favoured by the well fed and safe. See: 'the world is bigger than Portland, Oregon' for study material.

Bull. It's a product of dysfunctional parenting.

As soon as we realize that smaller efficient government includes staying out of peoples beds, closets, bathrooms, and in general private lives the better.

Only in societies where there is no immediate danger to life and limb. It's a by-product of too much safety. And I say 'too much', because humans generally don't do well when we're universally safe.

Oh my .... I do hope you're able to work on that naivety before you start spawning, Murray.

A 15 year old categorically does not know who they are - and expecting them to, leaving them to their own devices, guidance-free, is about the most irresponsible parenting you can do. Solid character is not the product of 'experimentation'. Kids who 'experiment' are almost always the most dysfunctional kids. Kids need (desperately) firm and clear paths, and boundaries. They do not respond at all well to an absence of boundaries. It's very unsettling and confusing for them. Boundaries and clear paths provide stability and certainty, and promote self-esteem and confidence. And you absolutely can and should 'stop them', when they attempt to wander down paths which could cause them problems in life.

Are there are a myriad of reasons as to why some people feel they are cats?

The shittiest parenting of all is the 'do whatever makes you happy' variety.

Good point. Species Dysphoria exists as well. If we're going down this normalization and validation route, they'll need validation too. We should also allow multiple personas to have multiple ID's and licenses..... And whatever delusion the next guy or girl has....

This is a ridiculous path for a society to go down, and doomed to failure. In the end whatever someone "feels" they are is utterly irrelevant if they are something else factually.

Yes, these ivory tower dwelling infants who've aggrandised and fetishised feelings (because they're too well fed and too safe), never stop to think about the logistics. Ever. It's three year olds wishing the world was a Disney Movie.

You'd think with all their stances about equality and discrimination that they would have the foresight to see where this leads once you start down the road to imagination land.
