I sometimes see people claim that 28% of Americans want to make homosexuality illegal. This sounds like an extremely high number for such a radical position. So I'm making this poll to have a sample. Just to be clear, this is about having the law forbid homosexuality itself, not specific things related to gay issues. For the people that vote yes, what should be the penalty for it and in what circumstances?
I can believe that statistic. Though I think it’s more like 28% of people wouldn’t care if it were made illegal.
I am of the belief than making anything Illegal must fit certain criteria. 1) The activity/Situation/Item must pose a threat of bodily harm to a population. 2) Personal or individual opinion alone must not be considered. 3) Individual liberty/rights must not be compromised. This eliminated the possibility of illegality of sexual preference.
A poll using random contributors doesn't tell you anything. Accurate polling is a science. https://news.gallup.com/poll/1651/gay-lesbian-rights.aspx
I, for one, don't give a rat's ass who one has sex with as long as I don't have to listen the LBGT... crowd whine about being discriminated against; as long as they don't get special treatment; as long as my grandchildren are not having homosexuality shoved in their face (in kindergarten no less); and as long as lesbians don't come on to me. Homosexual adults having sex with children should definitely be illegal though. It's an abomination as far as I am concerned
That isn't even funny considering I am a victim of childhood sexual abuse. We weren't talking about heterosexuals. We were talking about homosexuals. How interesting though that you seem to be supporting sex between gays and children.
You mean, like the polls that predicted Clinton would win? It's funny that you're saying that on this poll but not on every single other poll on the forum. At least be consistent and say the entire poll section is worthless.
You are the one that brought childhood abuse into the topic on ‘should homosexuality be illegal’. The two have nothing to do with one another. Don’t get upset because someone calls you out on it
There's literally zero controversy on that. Pedophilia is already illegal. Everybody hates pedos, even progressives.
Clinton did win the popular vote, which is what polls monitor. That they did not extrapolate this against the electoral college does not make the poll wrong.
So, gay sex with children shouldn't be considered when questioning whether homosexuality should be legal or not. Hmmm. Well then, I say homosexuality should be illegal.
What’s really interesting is that you seem to think there’s some kind of link between homosexuality and having sex with children. A man who has sex with men is a homosexual. A man who has sex with boys is not a homosexual, he is a pedophile. Bringing up sex with children in a thread about homosexuality is a factual non sequitor.
I believe it should be legal but rare. How do we do that? For one we stop promoting it as a decent alternative life style. We heal our culture and make sure children have strong, loving fathers. Too many are completely absent. We make sure our Mothers understand their role is to prepare their children to leave the nest rather than to goo goo talk them into being a dependent.
The poll question was on whether homosexuality between *consenting adults* should be illegal. Literally everybody agrees that sex with children should be illegal and it's a completely different issue.
Yeah, NAMBLA is a "factual non sequitur". But I confess, I only know one homosexual. He has AIDS but he would have unprotected sex with a boy, and has had unprotected sex with a boy. But I apologize for intruding on your homosexuality thread.
The thread doesn't mention "consenting adults" at all. But carry on. I don't want to interrupt your little thread on whether or not gay sex should be legal or illegal.
It clearly said homosexuality in general, which by definition includes consenting adults which are the overwhelming part of it.
They were mostly accurate. She won the popular vote by 3%, which is what they were showing. But the inability to determine the uptick in rural voters was missed. That is just an example of how accurate polling is difficult. You stated that you were using it as a gauge against real polls. Your poll means nothing unless you care only about the opinions of people in this forum who choose to answer. That tells you what 10 people think. In other words, you are using something meaningless to compare to a well-established scientific poll that has been running for decades.
